Good value
The course was in good shape, staff was very friendly a good value for the price. Pace of play can be a little slow..
Great Course for the money
Great Course for $27! 27 hole championship course with a great layout. Tight Fairways, small greens, great scenery. Our foursome played the East / North track which awesome. Staff is nice, pace of play was a good speed, and the pro shop is full stocked with apparel and equipment! Lots of sales!!
Nice greens
Pace of play was great!
Greens were in great shape, with a nice pace. Fairways need a little help. Bunkers looked to be sanded well. Visited one and was nice to play out of. Staff was courteous and friendly. Would definitely play again.
I played South9 & East 9.
The fairways in South 9 are in poor condition and needs improvements and care. East 9 is in better shape. Pace of play was good when we played.
Great course but slow play
As with many of the courses in the area they allow 5-somes. The 2 groups ahead of us were both 5's and the round was very slow. This ruins it for me.
I think Royak Viata is a very nice course and the best value for the money in the area. There is a challenging layout, some longer holes, and the greens are in good shape.
But the pace of play is a problem. When are the people running these courses going to realize that if pace of play is one of the top problems facing the sport, allowing groups of five is helping to kill it.
Great layout
This course has a unique and challenging layout. There are a lot of hills and dog legs as well as a few blind shots to greens. It's not ridiculously long though and it's a lot of fun to play.
Good course with some wonderful views of the San Gabriel Mtns. Some very challenging holes, well maintained, and staff personnel on top of things!
Not bad could have been better
I got a fairly early tee time, before 7:00 am. When I checked in the club house staff told me I was 2nd up. When I showed the starter he put us 3rd. We were behind a fivesome. Starting this early I was not expecting a 5 hour round. We seemed to be waiting on a lot of the holes. Other than that course was in good shape a little windy and the sun never was able to come out.
Fast greens
Played with 3 great friends in perfect November weather. The greens are so fast it makes the pin location silly at times. Other than poorly thought out pin placement the course was very playable and we will be back when they are not charging holiday rates.
Really nice course on a Friday
Greens and fairways were in good condition. Pace was fine for a Friday. I played the South front 9 and the East back 9. This course has 36 holes. My Garmin watch was unusable, but the Golf Pad app worked great when you select the right sets of holes. The layout is really fun and the greens were a bit fast.
meh
If you like standing around with two and three groups waiting at each hole, by all means play this course. SLOW play is the word of the day. The marshals were useless and said that it's just the way it is. This is my first (and last) time playing this course. Lots of nicer courses within the area for the same price with better course management.
3 hrs. 45 min.
Played at 6:30 and was finished at 10:15 that's all that needs to be said.
Nice for the price
Pretty well maintained.. Houses are a little close... Nice staff...
Good course
This course is very convenient, the green is also challenging, the price is reasonable,
Fairway
Fairway has too many holes
Good variety but beat up
Pros - We got out early (6:53 am) so the pace of play was whatever we wanted it to be. If you like variety there is a good amount of elevation changes and dog legs.
Cons - The course was pretty beat up (tee boxes really scarred / a green with a cone on it from damage / a whole section of one tight fairway that was a drop zone, etc.). The pin placement was a bit repetitive (the pin was tucked directly behind the bunker on almost every single hole)
All in all, a decent challenge for an intermediate golfer. I'll go back and play and hopefully the conditions will be better.
Fun afternoon
Played in the afternoon, the staff was friendly and helpful. Course conditions are real good.. Greens are in good shape
