Port Colborne Country Club
About
Port Colborne Golf & Country Club sits just minutes from the banks of Lake Erie. Founded in 1929, it originally opened as a nine-hole course and expanded to a full-length course in 1964. The golf course has matured beautifully over the years with help of major renovations to the design, irrigation, and drainage systems. The layout has rolling fairways that are lined with trees. It is still highly walkable though, since the undulations in the landscape are gentle, which is not to say it does not have its challenges. There are five water hazards and 13 strategically placed sand traps as well as smaller greens that demand accuracy. Port Colborne's practice facilities include a driving range and a putting green with a practice bunker.

do not trust the previous high ratings of this course
course was in terrible conditions for having nice weather the last few days. No drainage on the course. very wet and muddy and the course will not be able to recover from these conditions. power carts chew up the course because of no cart paths. bottom line- spend the extra money and go somewhere else
Excellent putting greens and very good designed fairways and good lenght golf course for small area.
It was my first time playing this course and I have to come back the next day to enjoy this old course and Golfnow hot deals!
nice day out bye lake erie late in season but course was in great shape.
The green are small but receptive with longer irons ,not sure about in July we just had @2 inches of rain the last few days. The fairways were in good shape and the bunkers were fluffed up and not full of water .The fairways are wide but you have some doglegs that you must hit 200+ yds from blues to make corners or get blocked bye trees.
Old course
The course is not exceedingly long but the greens are huge
with lots of break. Slope is 127 to 140.
This is the second time playing here she beat me up the first time.
Looks easy but plays much more difficult.
Nice course. Mature trees, fairways in great shape.
great course
we had a great day,the staff were friendly, the course was great want to play it again
Fab fall golf, gr8 conditions, slick challenging greens,
Very enjoyable round with friends, fabulous fall conditions, fairways nicely cut no coloured leaves yet, greens very tough to get up n in in 2. Very slick, but speed same on all greens. Great deal with golf now, thanks a bunch! Enjoyed by all!
A good and challenging test !
Well-manicured with incredibly fast greens. Played in under 3.5 hours, very enjoyable experience.
course tree lined & great features
staff was freindly, pace of play was fast, greens were in superb condition.
Great setting and player friendly.
Location is peaceful and the course is an old-style setting. A great day of golf and worth the drive.
Port Colborne Country Club a must play
This is a beautiful course, with tree lined fairways, and fast but fair greens. The tee shots are demanding, to keep your ball in the fairway. Most times i'vd played, there has been a nice cool breeze coming off lake erie. This course is a favorite of mine, and of the 15-20 times ive played it's always been in pristine condition. If you play, dont forget the home made chocolate chip cookies in the snack bar lol
Nice parkland course with great greens
First time playing this course. Nice layout, longer par 3s. Fairways were in good shape and the greens excellent & very fast. Well worth the visit
Nice course great layout
Early tee off probably helped with pace, course was much busier when we finished. this is a moderate to challenging course most par 5's over 500 yards and par 3's 160+ fairways were really nice.
Course is in excellent condition
I enjoyed playing this course. The tee boxes ,fairways and greens were well maintained. There is enough challenge to provide for a great day of golf.
Excellent course for all types of golfers. Offers a challenge to anyone.
Have played twice this year and impress both times. Friendly staff and nice facility ..... course offers every type of golfer a challenge and you will most likely want to come back.
Well maintained
I would not hesitate to play this course again likewise my fellow golfers.
Great course and better price from golf now.
Mature trees on every hole. small greens which ran true. Weird rock garden thing in front of #2 green but other then that a solid layout.
dry conditions
Fine tree lined course, with small tricky greens. Course was quite dry, and hard at the edge of fairways and under trees, rough was thin
unchallenging, dry as a bone, unreceptive greens
For all the hype I heard about this course I was very disappointed with it. I can understand why people like this course as other than a bit of water there is no real place to lose a ball if you keep it in bounds. Trees were all cut at least 3 feet off the ground and all underbrush has been cleared out. There are no hills or valleys just flat land with the odd misplaced knolls. I am not much better than a hack golfer and I didn't lose a ball and scored my best round in years. As for the course condition, it was dry as a bone. Tee boxes, the entire rough, of which there is only one level, and greens were all dried out. The fairways were only in slightly better shape. The course layout is confusing with paths from 2 or 3 greens to tee boxes intersecting throughout the course. At least twice we had to check the hole sign to make sure we were on the right tee box.
Good value, wide forgiving fairways, good sand bunkers
Visited the course on a sunny Friday so was quite busy. We drove from St. Catharines so about 45 min. drive. People were friendly in the snack bar. Course was fairly flat but the greens were quite fast and tricky to read. the fairway was in good shape and the sand in the bunkers were good also. Being a twosome we sailed through the first nine holes in l hr 20 min. as the foursome and fivesome let us through no problem. Ran into a problem with two oldtimers who wished to play on their own and they were very slow so we waited every hole on the back nine...over 2 1/2 hours for nine holes...we will go back but wish slower players would waive through quicker ones. Overall good day.
