Pelham Hills Golf & Country Club
About
Situated just outside of Welland, Pelham Hills Golf & Country Club offers a parkland-style course that is easily accessible from Niagara Falls. With the Niagara Escarpment serving as a backdrop, the golf course has a rolling landscape covered with large ponds, wandering creeks, and towering trees. The Pelham Hills layout features elevated tees and undulating greens that are heavily guarded. In addition to numerous bunkers there is also strategically placed mounding separating the holes. The front nine has a few demanding holes that require long carries over ravines but there are also many birdie opportunities. Pelham Hills Golf & Country Club's back nine tests your drives more than your shot-making skills. The golf course is a formidable challenge but generous fairways make it more player friendly.

Good Course with a few improvements
We really enjoyed our golf experience at Pelham Hills. Didn't purchase any food or beverages so can't comment on that aspect of the club.
Joined up on the back 9 with 2 other players. Holes were great except for about 2 that felt as though they were farm fields and needed some work. Otherwise we really enjoyed golfing although it was very HOT!
Pelham Hills
always a fun course to play. lots of hills to be weary of on tee shots. stay out of the bunkers as they could use some work...
Awesome place
Awesome place to golf.....extremely helpful and friendly staff and proshop
Value for the dollar
I enjoyed my first round at Pelham Hills. There's a pretty good variety of holes and wide fairways. Nice country setting. A few hills but as a senior, I found it fine to walk. Some holes required a bit of carry on the first shot to reach the fairway. Greens on the slow side but in good shape for a mid-range course. Bunkers pretty hard, but that's not unusual for many Ontario courses. It's one of those courses with a fairly high first cut of rough. If you don't find the fairway you can lose the odd ball.No food cart on the course the day I was there. It has the usual hotdog/hamburg kitchen, but my dog was very tasty. Staff were very nice. I'll certainly go back.
Nice country course
I've played this course before and I always enjoy it. It has a nice layout and some good challenges. The only issue was that the greens were slow and bumpy, so it was difficult to roll putts consistently. The staff is always nice and friendly. The pace and play was a little slow, but usually moves much better.
Average Course
Staff were very friendly and welcomed us as a two some. Layout of course is good. 4-5 of the greens were in rough shape. Bunkers were in poor shape, hard as a rock. Lots of mosquitoes and horse flies on many holes. There are 2-3 really beautiful holes. No marshals on the course all day. We played the front 9 in about 90 minutes but got hung up behind 2 ladies groups (foursomes) on the 13th hole to the 18th which took us another 90 minutes to play. They were in no hurry at all, looking for balls, and just taking their sweet time to play without any concern for our twosome. They were very slow. I must say, it was quite frustrating as we thought about skipping 2 holes to get in front of them but didn't. That's just wasting your game to do that. A course marshal would have been able to speed it up for us. I would really have to think hard about playing there again. Front 9 is easier than the back. Hard to recommend it unless some changes are made as per my concerns above. Hope it does, then it would be a decent course to play.
Not worth the deal
Golfed here a few times, usually with a deal from Golf Now. Course has a good layout, but not well maintained, last time was pretty bad - couldn't tell the difference between the rough and the fairway. We were constantly slowed down by tractors cutting grass. Customer service needs a lot of work, obviously cater to members, don't treat public well at all. Much better courses in the area, they should be charging a lot less or improve on the course and customer service.
Good course
Pelham is a really good course. The length is just enough to be challenging and not too much to tire you out on a hot day. The staff is incredibly friendly and every time I have played here we get paired up with great people. No complaints at all. It's a bit of a far drive for me from Burlington but it's always worth it. The layout is nice and doesn't have you trading fairways constantly.
Avoid at all costs!
Only reason I went was it was $19 on Golfnow. Have played here in the past and it seems every year the condition is worse. Greens are half dead and you hit your ball in the fairway and you could be in a dirt patch???
Biggest joke is the cart fees. $35 for 18 holes?? I paid $11 for cart At Hunters Pointe and that course is fantastic.
Just dont waste your time or hard earned $$$!!
Bring heavy duty bug spray!!
We were very disappointed in the condition of the greens. There were many rough brown patches on the greens making putting difficult. We would have dealt with that but the worst part were the mosquitos. Even with bug spray we could not control being eaten alive. There is alot of stagnant water which could be creating the problem. Even with the hot sunny conditions, Teeing off was challenging with all the mosquitos.
Elevated greens
We had a lot of fun, there are many picturesque holes, the greens were fast but there are grass free spots on the green, they need more post winter love, I will play again this year, it's a nice change to your regular course. Also many of the greens are elevated so your short game is tested.
Not Worth more than 20
The course was in fair to poor shape. Grass cut and left all over the edges of the fairways and rough. This makes it hard to find your ball when it's under the huge piles of grass. Just not well maintained!! Last time for us. We paid 20 to walk thought it was a great deal but NOT REALLY.
A ball striker's course
A tree lined course that puts a premium on precision off the tee which is not always a driver.
Course is very firm and difficult to walk.
Greens are slow but straight forward.
Not a course that will stress your short game and putting so if you can focus on accurate tee shots; a good score may be had.
nice course for the money
The course was in nice condition, the day we played the course was a little busy, but it was still an enjoyable round.
Friendly Course
We enjoyed ourselves immensely. Very friendly family run business.
challenging and fun
great mix with tree lined fairways, water hazards, nice greens, beautiful and challenging par 3's. i am looking forward too playing this course again.
Needs some TLC
I have played here many times and teh course condition is gradually deteriorating . Greens were choppy and slow looked like they needed some overdue maintenance. Keeping in mind they have been like that for all 3 rounds I have played this year in the spring , mid summer and later in the summer. The biggest problem on this course is the pace of play due to iconsiderate people who only care about themselves and have no clue about golf etiquette.Stopping on every green to take selfies and group photos , and then putting at leats 4 balls each into a creek before giving up and moving on. The back nine should not take 3 hours to play. They need a Marshall as this is the main reason I will not return and will definitly not recommend the course.
Pelham is thirsty
Too bad that the course is so dried out. It made for cowboy type of golfing. The greens were rough as well. Perhaps they have a shortage of watering?two years ago it was in much better shape.
Doubt that we will be back.
