Pelham Hills Golf & Country Club
About
Situated just outside of Welland, Pelham Hills Golf & Country Club offers a parkland-style course that is easily accessible from Niagara Falls. With the Niagara Escarpment serving as a backdrop, the golf course has a rolling landscape covered with large ponds, wandering creeks, and towering trees. The Pelham Hills layout features elevated tees and undulating greens that are heavily guarded. In addition to numerous bunkers there is also strategically placed mounding separating the holes. The front nine has a few demanding holes that require long carries over ravines but there are also many birdie opportunities. Pelham Hills Golf & Country Club's back nine tests your drives more than your shot-making skills. The golf course is a formidable challenge but generous fairways make it more player friendly.

Course looking tired
Nice layout and fairly open. Good enough for the average or beginner. Intermediate and better golfer will be disappointed in the condition of the course. Very dry, fairways, rough cement hard. Greens very hard, ball will not stick, your only shot on most is playing short and rolling up. No spin on short irons, with the ground so hard you cant create any backspin. Tough to find grass to hit off of. Greens are very hard and extremely slow (sometime) very inconsistent. Overall the course is looking very worn out this year. Wont be going back this year.
Nice Course
Course was in nice shape. Had a very enjoyable time
Pace of play ruins any positive feelings about this course
This us the second time I have played this course. A great deal $1.00 per hole. There was a foursome that started 3 holes before me. Glacial pace with these people having absolutely no regard for anyone else. What could have been a quick 18 turned into a terrible slogging around this otherwise nice course.
FYI the 4 some that started 3 holes ahead finally saw the light ( polite prodding) and let us play through. I finished 18, cleaned up and grabbed a drink before I left the parking lot to see the foursome just teeing off at 17. I am sure the people behind them were tearing their hair out.
Maybe a Marshall ?? Or at least some awareness as to slow play would make this more enjoyable.
A nice round of golf
The conditions of the course were overall descent. The greens were in good shape, the fairways were good, the only complaint I would have is that the sand in the bunkers was pretty terrible ( it was hard and impossible to splash it out)
average
This course has some challenging holes and a really good layout. The fairways and greens haven't been kept up. This could be a beautiful course with more maintenance and landscaping.
Sticklers
Course is ok. Nothing to brag about by any means. Played on a Saturday and paid $45 when the regular price is $50 a round in August. Much better deals out there!!
Rained the night before so the course was wet. Greens were slow. The course's overall condition is fair, but the staff acts like its Glen Abby. We were told to hurry at the turn when our foursome was playing within the Marshall's course time constraint. We came in the turn playing 9 wholes at 2 hrs and 5 mins. The course time limit is recommended at 4 hours and 20 mins and the staff was harping on us after we just bought lunch. Wasn't impressed. Not going back! Better courses with better deals out there
Excellent Course
This course is excellent to play and the clubhouse staff is great the only problem was the course marshal.Multiple trips to complain about pace of play when we are playing as a foursome and a couple we allowed play through and then a single golfer came up behind us.Then on the back nine again asked us to pick up the pace.WE then had no one behind us at that time !!!! Confused to say the least regarding the marshal. The course is great to play though !!!!
great course.
Will definitely go back. The staff are the friendliest people and clearly love working there
my holiday golf
The course was in average condition.. I was surprised by the amount of clover in the fairways. the 9th tee was moved to a temporary spot but there was nothing to show yardage and there was water in play.
Dry and Hilly
The course was extremely dry, fairways very thin and some damage to some greens (bare areas, etc). Course needed water. The 9th hole tee had been changed and the hole was far too short.
Nice Course
Good course to enjoy, not very challenging, nice layout, the fairway grounds were dried up but the greens in good condition.
Great bag for your $$$
To bad this is over 1hr drive from my place I'd play it everyday. One downfall is that they don't belong to golf canada so you can't put in your scores.
Awesome course
Well maintained beautiful course with rolling hills and awesome scenery challenging elavation
Clubhouse and amenities clean and well kept
Pro Shop manager very courteous and helpful
We can't wait to golf at Pelham again
It's definately on our list of favourites
COURSE HAS GOOD CHALLENGES
VERY PLAYABLE COURSE WITH SOME GOOD CHALLENGING HOLES, THE WIND WAS A FACTOR IN PLAY TODAY, BUT STILL HAD A DECENT ROUND. THE GREENS VARIED IN SPEED DUE TO SOME HAD JUST BEEN WATERED AND SOME DRIED UP. great COURSE TO PLAY AND A GOOD VALUE.
Always friendly
I enjoy golfing at Pelham Hills starting with Brad in the Pro Shop. He is always friendly, informative concerning course conditions and remembers me by name. The greens were a lot slower than previous years and the rough thicker but overall the course in great shape. Three of us walked & played in under 4:15. Après golf was more pleasant when the upstairs bar was used.
Some challenging holes but overall not difficult to play.
A good mid level course. Not too long to walk.
Greens had just been aerated and fertilized.
Fairways were very dry.
Please change your cover photo
This golf course is not worth the 45.00 to golf. It is poorly maintained.
With such a nice club house you would think they would keep the actual golf course in good shape.
If the photo of the golf course on the web site was supposed to depict the course itself I would like to know what year the photo was taken and how much airbrushing was done.
For 5 dollars more we played at Whirlpool on a Sunday afternoon.
Friendship Tournament
Teed off at 4:30 on a Wednesday afternoon with a buddy. had the course to ourselves. Walked it and still got the round in under 3 1/2 hours.
Par 3's are very challenging
Good Layout, will definitely play again when a little dryer, no roll due to downpour approx. 1 hr before we played.
