About
Cardinal Lakes Golf Club offers two 18-hole courses, a championship and an executive. The Sparrow Course is the original executive layout and while it may only be 4,909 yards, it offers the same challenges as its championship sister course. The generous fairways, many of which are doglegs, are flanked with rough areas and there are numerous ponds and lakes that come into play. Surrounded by trees and bunkers, the small greens demand accuracy. It may be a short layout, but this formidable golf course requires careful course management, proper club selection, and solid short game skills. While it may often be overlooked because of its length, the Sparrow is Niagara's most formidable short track

No scorecards (?!)
As per usual requirements these days you marshal through the pro shop and registration/payment procedures. Directed to the starter..., where we are informed that there are no scorecards (or pencils). You can download a free app on your phone. Didn’t feel like rushing to my car to retrieve my phone (safely locked away) with 2 minutes to go before tee time. Also don’t want to keep my phone on for 4 hours during play on the course. One person in our group had the responsibility of informing the rest of us the yardage/par for the hole. There should be a “paper scorecard option” ....
Great afternoon of golf!
Course in great shape, staff well organized and friendly. Everyone mindful of social distancing. Pace of play very good for a busy Sunday- thanks Sparrow Lakes!
Course Takes Advantage of Covid Situation
The Course offers Value for the Money Unless you are taking a Power Cart! I felt the Course is taking Advantage of the Covid Situation! They Charge the Full Cart Fee Per Person Which I Could Appreciate for Single Riders But They allow 2 Riders if From the Same Household yet Charged as if We were Taking 2 Carts! They Stated is because of all the Extra Cleaning and Treatment of the Carts But they charged as if there were 2 Carts Used and Wouldn't Explain the Reasoning other then they have to Clean! Didn't Care if I Never Came back When I suggested this is Not a Good Way to Encourage First time Players at the Course to Return and Play! Guess They Don't Need the Income!
Love this golf course. Was a little disappointed when I arrived and was told we couldn’t have a cart because apparently if you book a hot deal with Golfnow he said you don’t get a cart. What??? Never heard of that we always book with golfnow and are able to get a cart. However we ended getting a cart after I refused to play without a cart. Great day of golf and the course was great !!
Great course, great value!
We had a wonderful outing today at Cardinal. Great greens and apron. Likewise the the fairways. The bunkers were poor but, with no rakes, we assume they will be ship-shape in the near future. The shorter yardage is a boon to those who love to walk, especially seniors. Lots of challenges though for the golfer.

course is in good condition especially since grounds keeper has had very little time to prepare for play.

My only complaint would be the rough on the sides of the fairways should be shorter as balls just disappear.

Perfect Day
This was our first time playing this course, we had a foursome. The weather was perfect. We got a Hot Deal from Golf Now for $25 each for 18 with a cart. The course is a little challenging but the greens even more so!! We had a great day and finished it off with lunch at the clubhouse which was delicious...Will definitely go back.

Grass cutter stole my ball
I was off to a great round I was paired with a wonderful twosome who were great golfers too boot. I enjoy this course and would highly recommend it to anyone but upon writing the review I was reminded of the one incident that spoiled my round I had a good front nine and was teeing off on the 11th when I pushed my drive right of the fairway I was playing a Callaway bold yellow ball so I can track and find it easier and a grass cutter picked up my ball let me walk up and down the rough four times before I made eye contact stared him down and asked him if he had picked up my ball as we had seen his tractor stop and sure enough he had my ball in his jacket pocket he gave it back and said you were by the second bunker and we were like what and looked at each other completely astounded. I was playing a very great round and enjoying the company and it’s spoiled that hole and the next two as we were all kind of sour as we could not believe that someone employed a golf course would pick up someone’s ball no knowing that that’s a major faux pas!
A great course but dont let the par 67 fool you. It has a lot of challenges ponds bunkers lots of tree trouble. Greens were nice and well kept but very fast and challenging but that's good right? All around this is a great course and I will definitely return.
