Cardinal Lakes Golf Club - Sparrow Course
About
Cardinal Lakes Golf Club offers two 18-hole courses, a championship and an executive. The Sparrow Course is the original executive layout and while it may only be 4,909 yards, it offers the same challenges as its championship sister course. The generous fairways, many of which are doglegs, are flanked with rough areas and there are numerous ponds and lakes that come into play. Surrounded by trees and bunkers, the small greens demand accuracy. It may be a short layout, but this formidable golf course requires careful course management, proper club selection, and solid short game skills. While it may often be overlooked because of its length, the Sparrow is Niagara's most formidable short track

Good time
We had fun, no need for a driver on the sparrow side, good for working out your iron play.
Worth the drive off the beaten path!
First time to the Niagara area & took advantage of a "Hot Deal" on Golfnow & couldn't be happier that we did! Staff at The Sparrow are very welcoming & friendly. They had no issue adjusting my scheduled tee time over the phone when I informed them I was gonna be late. Upon arrival, members who obviously knew I was not from the area were quick to give advice on how to play certain holes, which is always a bonus when new to a course. The course itself very well maintained! Fairways are a little narrow but that is part of the charm & challenge of the Sparrow. Greens were in perfect shape & at least 16 of them caused me pause prior to each putt. All in all, a great day of golf in just about 4hrs. Highly recommended!
We played the Sparrow (executive course) - Fantastic shape
The course was in great shape. Pace of play was good and we finished 18 in 3.5 hours.
I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to tune up there fairway wood off the tee and short irons into the greens.
Course includes 5 holes where driver can be called for which provides an opportunity for using everything in the bag while concentrating on short irons.

Great condition and fun to play. Excellent value .
Poor customer service.
When we arrived, we were told that we could only play 9 holes as they had their league playing off the 1st and 10th tees at 4:00 p.m. This was a terrible disappointment as we had booked for 18 holes.
Great Shortgame Test
Except for the unseasonally cool temps and gusty winds, today was excellent.
The course was in great shape, divots were repaired, no ball marks on the SPECTACULAR greens, the fairways, fringes were cut nice, and the rough wasn't too "narly". Another perk that often goes unnoticed - the Blue tee boxes were level and you didn't have to go hunting for a good place to tee your ball.
Love Sparrow Lakes
Not the first time we've been here and we'll keep going back. The course is always in very good shape and pace of play is never a concern. It's easy to walk and although not overly challenging, if you don't play the fairways, it can jump up and bite you. Overall, a great day of golf!
Course is ok, but the staff is not friendly
Played with under par deal, first round ended at 12:30pm, tried to book the next tee off, but was told to wait until 4pm, actually the course iwas almost empty that afternoon - August 24, 2013.
Sorry, I had to selecte the year 2014 to proceed to write this comment. 2013 date is not available.
Very bad experience, I had to transfer my 2nd voucher to my friend to avoid the painful experience.
NB: actually, we talked to the starter and he allowed us to started the 2nd round earlier becaus no any other group at all. Not sure why the staff inside was doing that towards us even we explained to him we were from far away.
Sparrow Lakes- Sparrow Course
Great course to work on your irons/approach shots as is not a long course. Great value.
Sparrow Lakes
Course was in good shape, the greens had been aerated, which is expected for this time of year, but would have been nice to know before booking.
Overall good experience, will go back.
Goose City
A lot of geese and goose droppings everywhere. Maybe just late season birds? No map on score cards or hole signs. A bit difficult to follow if you don't know the course. Nice course layout and fast greens. Paid for 18, only did the front 9.
Great shape
I like the sparrow when I walk 18 it a short coarse with challenging approach shots to very fast greens that are in great shape
What's not to like?
Friendly staff, course is in fine shape
Great weather
Thanks for another great day at Sarrow!
Sparrow
The pace of play was great...18 holes in 3 hours. Course was over watered (not by rain) so wet for summer time conditions...some balls were plugging and little or no roll. Parking lot was very dusty...everything else was good. TJ
Short but sweet
Greens were very good, course is very short and great for beginners. No really memorable signature holes, no "wow" factor, but great value.
Sparrow lakes
Very good the only thing I didn't like was for our group was asked to take on fourth player who didn't fit our pace. It would be better to be asked when the guy isn't standing right there.
long day
this course was jammed. Had to wait every hole. There is no diagram of any of the holes on the course nor scorecard. It would be nice to know where hazards are on the course. We saw a marshall at the start but nowhere to be seen afterwards.
Sparrow Lakes - Sparrow Course
It was my first time playing the facility which has two 18 hole courses. I got a great deal to play the Sparrow Course for only 10$ - unfortunately, the deal didn't state that this was essentially an executive course - 4900 yards with a couple par 5's. It was in great shape with excellent greens. Just wished I could have been placed on the longer course of 6500 yards.
