Cardinal Lakes Golf Club - Sparrow Course
About
Cardinal Lakes Golf Club offers two 18-hole courses, a championship and an executive. The Sparrow Course is the original executive layout and while it may only be 4,909 yards, it offers the same challenges as its championship sister course. The generous fairways, many of which are doglegs, are flanked with rough areas and there are numerous ponds and lakes that come into play. Surrounded by trees and bunkers, the small greens demand accuracy. It may be a short layout, but this formidable golf course requires careful course management, proper club selection, and solid short game skills. While it may often be overlooked because of its length, the Sparrow is Niagara's most formidable short track

Sparrow Lakes
Great course at a great price.
Really great service.
No problems from the harsh winter and wet spring
Highly recommend this course, both the Sparrow and Heron .
Good value for short course
Despite all the rain we've had over the last 2 weeks and the cooler spring weather, the course was in good condition with only a few wet areas in the fairways. The greens and tees were in good shape. This is a good short course with friendly staff that made a good experience for my 8 year old son and I to enjoy a game together.
This course offers a wide and well chosen variety of holes.
The course had received several days of rain prior to my play and being located close to a fairly large river, it doesn't drain as well as other courses in the area. Despite that I was impressed with its playability (can you say "casual water"!).
I was impressed with the course condition......tee boxes, fairways, greens and even rough .....all near perfect. Mid October in the Niagara peninsula is a great time to play golf.
The Sparrow course offers narrow fairways, well placed dog-legs and water hazards, variety and sufficiently long enough par 3's to be a good test for any handicap.
a sunny happy golfing expreience
we had a very enjoyable afternoon, after eating a terrific sandwich in the golf restaurant. We can really recommend this course.
Shorter course wih challenging holes. Great greens
Shorter course wih challenging holes. Great greens
Well maintained
Great staff from cash to starter
I am a senior lady 14 handicap and I love this course
This course is a must play for anyone that has never played it before.
Although the course is not exceptionally long, it is a great test of golf for anyone, no matter what your handicap is.
Most holes are skill testing to say the least. There are water hazards on virtually all holes.
The condition of the course is second to none. The greens and fairways are manicured to perfection.
sparrow sept 9/2-13
first class course - while not long- greens are demanding - fast - with enough slope and undulations to make putting a fun challenge - would go back any-time
fairways well manicured - pace of play very good
Fun course
I have played Sparrow Lakes about a dozen times, have enjoyed every time I've played it although I was quite disappointed with how wet the course was considering we haven't had an extraordinary amount of rain recently. Other than that its a very enjoyable course.
This course helps with your short iron game
We play this course regularly, its a good price for 18, and we usualy go early and can be done our round in about 3 hours, great course for your short game and some challenging holes. Great course
Great for intermediate golfers
This course is well maintained and fairly forgiving. Great for couples golf and intermediate golfers.
A good test for the average golfer
A wonderful course from the front tees for a senior golfer. The greens were in great shape, and there was just enough features to make it fun to play. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would play this course again.
Short course that packs a punch
You will use all the clubs in the bag for this one .
Had not played it in 20 years and the trees matured to be a factor .
Fast undulating greens make it a challenge.
Good to shore up your short game.
the greens were average size to small but lots breaking puts The fairways were tight but being a short course you needed to plan your next shot ahead of time with lots of doglegs
well maintained good layout
the sparrow is a bit short, for players that are new they do not have a layout on either the card or the teeoffs which i find odd ,could have saved a few strokes ,.need to bring to their attenttion.
Great Course
I plan to go back soon. Well manicured golf course.
Great value and challenge
A good challenge for any golfer, this par 67 is very playable but not easy to beat. Great value for your money.
Wonderful day of golf
Even though there was a league going on at my tee off time, the starter had me go off the 10th tee and was able to fit me in after I finished the front 9, without any delay. Greens were fast and true and the bunkers were well maintained. Fairways were same quality as most premium courses without the premium price.
Short but challenging. An Executive ++
This is a shorter course but still challenging and in very good condition. Walkable but we appreciated carts on a hot afternoon.
Great course for those that don't want the struggle of a long course and for the senior golfer who find getting distance off the tee difficult.
