Good older course, but just punched the fairways
This is a older course. It is a old country club, and has that old style feeling.
Glad I found it!
Most definitely one of the hidden gems in the Dallas area - well maintained - friendly staff - challenging layout - country club quality at a muni price - very walkable, which I find makes the golf experience even more enjoyable
great course to play sweet
some of best fairways and the sweetist fast greens i have played on please keep that way
Outstanding value.
Great old style course with fairly forgiving fairways and small greens. Accuracy important but not critical. Greens and fairways were in excellent condition.
Good track
Good solid track, not overly challenging and a good course for the price.
Love it!!!
The course is great. Greens are firm and fast, but roll true! You should definitely play here. Can't wait to play it in the spring time!
Well maintained...country club atmosphere
The course is weel kept, the greens are true for putting, the fairways are beautiful, and I could go on and on. This course is comparable to Bent Tree and Royal Oaks which I have played.
It's a gem
Played the day after Thanksgiving and had a wonderful experience. Greens are in great shape and overall course condition very good. Staff could not be better and this is semi-private...
great traditional course
love this old style course. very good conditions. good pro shop.
One of the best values in Dallas area..
This course has some very good holes and only a couple of quirky ones, but they don't detract from the course. Overall, it is fairly wide open off the tee, but still has very good shot values. The greens were excellent; hybrid Bermuda; very smooth. The fairways are OK, but the rough is a bit thin and there needs to be a little maintenance around some of the greenside bunkers. However, the price is excellent. One of the best values in Dallas area.
Gorgeous course, A Marshall on duty would benefit the pace of all players.

Great Course, too many olds though.
I normally enjoy playing here. The only problem is that I was in a 2some and was stuck behind a 5some of old men who wouldn't let us play through. They clogged up the rest of the course and had me out on the course for 30minutes to an hour longer than usual. I'll definitely come back, because I've never had this problem before there, but the rudeness of those five old men was pretty frustrating.
Course was in great condition.
Arrived at the course for tee time and there was a significant delay due to a tournament. Proshop started us on back nine but when we turned they wanted us to tee off behind 3-foursomes.
Tough but Great Course
There is a reason this course use to be played by the PGA tour. The course is in amazing shape!!!
Friendly staff but too crowded
It was a weekday but i had to wait for about 20 mins to tee off even though i booked a tee time in advance. The courses are placed right next to each other so you better watch out for the ball at all times. It took us(two) 5 and a half hours. It was a great price and thats it. I may come back when im short of money but definitely not recommand to my friends.
Beautiful layout, has held PGA events in past years, great greens
Nice hidden secret in south Dallas, Sunday was slow due to walkers being allowed on weekends. three groups of 13 walking players in front of me made a very long day. The club should not allow that many walkers on the weekend, a lot of players were waiting behind them.
this course is very chalenging
Golf culb of Dallas is very beatiful golf course very chalenging will make use evry club on you bag, aslo well maintain culd use a little help on the sand traps, price for range balls is a bit expensive could be more resanoble. staff is very friendly
A Very Good Maxwell Gem in DFW
This was Perry Maxwell's last design (1953) and what a treat it is - especially the back nine.
There is a stream that wanders through the property and comes into play 7-8 holes - watch out at the end of fairways #2 and 11.
The greens are small, and there is some movement in many of them. I found the back nine to hold more interest than the front nine - hole variety and challenges - and Maxwell's routing - come through more on the back.
Course was in very good shape - fairways moderately fast, greens smooth and true - with some subtle breaks that I didn't see until the ball went by the hole.
The course is in good condition
i really like the course the service and avaliable is good.....would like to see more tee times on the hot tees
Old style course with smooth greens
I enjoy playing this course, as it has a long history to it. Oak Cliff Country Club, now known as The Golf Club of Dallas, was where the Byron Nelson was played before being moved to the Las Colinas area. The clubhouse has photos of past winners, mostly from the '60s (Julius Boros, Sam Snead, Charles Coody, Billy Maxwell, et al).
The course has a variety of holes that bend one way or the other that will challenge your shot-making skills. There is not one hole that I find to be dull or boring. The par 3's all play uphill, which presents a club selection challenge, especially when wind is involved.
The greens are smooth and don't have much undulation, but several holes do have some slope to them.
This is a nice course, and I am particularly fond of playing it due to the mid-afternoon tee time bargains that can be had through Golfnow.com and the fact that I can usually finish the round in less than 4 hours.
