Good quality considered all courses are aerated.
In the Chesapeake area it is known for being a lower tier yet playable course perfect for beginners. Best conditions I've seen there, greens were aerated but they are everywhere so might as well play this course. I live on and am a member of the Greenbrier Country club and besides different hole designs and bunkers the big difference is grass quality. I shoot no lower than 90 so I cant blame battlefield or any thing else but myself.
Bring your "A" game
Great course. Well kept. Well designed. A challenge is available for any level of golfer. Best to stay in the fairway and not let "shortcuts" fool you!
Good Course - No Frills.
It’s a good course at a great price. It didn’t bother me, but it might bother some that there are no food offerings, no alcohol allowed on the course, no beer cart girls, no bathroom (port-o-potty only).
That said, I would go back.
Looks can be deceiving…
This Chesapeake GC has dirt/gravel drive and parking lot. The Pro shop is in a double-wide mobile home type building. But don’t let that fool you. This is a fantastic course. Who would have thought anyone would put a links golf course out in the country, but they did. It’s a challenging course for all, and tee boxes, fairways, bunkers and greens are in excellent condition. (Okay, there were 2 greens showing some skinny, but not bad!)
Good course
Clubhouse is under construction so I have the off site amenities a 2 star. Other than that, good course with a full sized driving range.
Pleasant round of golf
This course is not too bad. There is no clubhouse or any amenities. Overall I really enjoyed it. Its Fairly new, scenery not that great with construction in neighboring lot, and not much for the surrounding landscape. This course is hilly but not too challenging. The #3 and #4 hole was confusing as I lost track of which hole i was in. I actuallly tee off on 3 but played the 4 hole. I had 3 player but only 2 golf clubs/bags and their rules is each player had to have their own clubs/bags. They actually let me borrow one of their clubs/bags for free. Im sure there is a rental fee. You can drive the cart on the course which is nice. Some places only allows carts on cart ways only.
Muuch Improved
I hadn't played the battlefield course in several years, not since the first opened. The course has filled in nicely. An enjoyably outing.
Course is in very good condition. 90 degree in effect. A little damp but still in really good shape.
It started pouring rain so we quit but the staff won’t give us a rain check because we booked through Golf Now 😢😢
It was raining incessantly so we decided to stop playing but we’re refused a rain check because we booked through Golf Now

"a lower tier yet playable course perfect for beginners". Kind of harsh don't you think? Especially considering that Battelfield ranks third in the top 10 courses in and near Chesapeake by Yelp. Greenbriar ranks fourth...
