The good and the not so good
I really like the layout of this course. The fairways were in good condition, despite the grass still being dormant for the winter. For a $12 'Hot Deal', it was a great deal and about the right price. I flew through the front 9 in about 1:15, then started running into other groups. By the time I got to 14, it was 30 mins between shots. The course ranger apologized when he realized I quit after 14, but seemed to make no effort to move folks along.
The tee boxes and greens need EXTENSIVE work as do the deteriorating cart paths. No drinking water on the course. Drinking fountain 'Out of Order' in the clubhouse.
I hadn't played this course in years so I don't know if it was worse and is coming back or if it is continuing to decline. Hopefully it is the former because this is a very interesting and beautiful course!
hilly
nice course. was hilly, not very much water to contend with. played in Feb, but sunny warm day. had 4 to 6 temp. greens but ok. nice views and clean.
Great layout
Love to play this course, they are working on the greens now but in a couple of weeks the course will be great fairways are outstanding, love the course
OK value for the money
The course had a unique layout a lot of blind holes. The greens were torched from the summer had to play 18 temporaries the fairways were overgrown. There was no mention of this when making a reservation or I would've changed to a different golf course
There was no mention of this when making a reservation or I would've changed to a different golf course. I understand this was unique this year would like to play it under different conditions
Gone greens
Well, this is my second attempt to post a review of my round and this course from last Saturday. Perhaps my first one was a bit too honest, so I'll keep this one simple. (Mysteriously, my post from last week just got ignored and/or disregarded.)
The greens are GONE (dirt only) and they don't bother to mention this fact until you get to the course.
Please don't waste you time and money like we did.
Don't play until the greens are replaced
The greens are solid dirt. There is no grass (except for a spare few weeds) on probably 16 of the 18 greens. Impossible to putt reasonably when your line is blocked by a bunch of crab grass. Also putts and approach shots could not hold on a hill and consistently rolled down to valleys because of the lack of grass. If I were the course management, I would be embarrassed to allow people to play this course with the greens in this condition. When I discussed briefly with someone in the clubhouse, it sounded as though it's just a result of the extreme heat, but no other courses around have greens in this condition, so I wonder why more hasn't been done to make this situation better. The rest of the course was in great shape, especially considering the amount of recent rain.
I enjoyed the layout except for a few silly holes. One hole can play as both a par 4 and a par 3. We played it as a par three and it's a ridiculous 50 foot drop off from the tee box on a 150 yard shot. I have no idea how you'd play it as a par 4 given that there is essentially no fairway. There's also another par 3 (I believe it's #16) with a silly elevation change. You can't even see the green from the blue/white tee box.
Overall, I will not be back to this course. I can find Hot Deals for other courses in the area that are WAY nicer for comparable prices.
Greens are gone for the year
This is a wonderful layout. The staff is great. Problem is that the greens are shot and may have to be rebuilt. It's a shame to see on an otherwise great course.
TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE GREENS, PACKED DIRT/SAND NOT MUCH GRASS
The course was cart path only, which is never a big deal but the course was not wet at all. The only spots wet were on the cart path on the front 9. The ranger got onto our other player for simply going around our cart to get to his ball ahead of us. The tee boxes were in pretty good shape, the fairways were in PERFECT SHAPE & the ball set up nicely, the rough was fairly challenging in places. The worst part of the course is the most important. There was absolutely no grass on the greens. Some greens had grass, but almost every green on the back 9 was ALL PACKED DIRT/SAND. Even with a cheap rate on golf now, I would not play this course for free nor would I recommend it until they get someone who knows how to maintain the greens.
Great Course! Awesome views and altitude changes!
A lot of bang for the buck! Super layout. Fairways were nicely groomed and the scenery is Pure Spectacular Tennessee awesomenes! Staff is extremely helpful and friendly!
Only thing that kept them ffrom a higher overall lwas the greens which were showing some severe signs of stress.
If the past is any indicator I'm sure they'll get this all sorted out.
Highly recommend Pebble Brook Golf Cours!
Great Course!
First time playing this course and could only describe it as a hidden gem. The staff is incredibly friendly, the course conditions are great, and the layout gives you plenty of risk and reward holes. There are some shorter par 4's that you can have a go at with the driver and that makes it a lot of fun. The greens are also in nice shape and roll very true. The par 3's are very cool as well with some great elevation changes. Definitely did not expect all of the hills, but this made it really cool.
Overall, this was definitely one of the nicer places I've played around Nashville and would recommend Pebble Brook to anyone looking for a fun place to play.
Fee to high
The course was ok. Have played nicer courses for less money.
Thought the fee was high do the quality of the course.
Hidden gem
PLAYED THE COURSE TODAY AFTER NOT PLAYING IT FOR OVER A YEAR. The course is better than ever!! The greens were immaculate. The fairways were beautiful and healthy. Even the rough was manicured. I have always loved the layout here....even those troublesome uphill blind T shots on the back. The staff was pleasant and helpful and the driving range was great. My new favorite course in the area.
Excellent and varied elavations
Course was in good shape. It is one of our favorite courses to play in the area.
Excellent
You can't beat the value here. One of the nicest courses I've played in the Nashville area!
Best Nashville Course for the $
Solid Course for a great Rate
Long and Challenging, great lay out. Other great courses in the area are twice the price.
Great course
Greens in great condition and a very unique and fun layout.
Great Layout for any golf level
If you have not played this course , then you should put on your bucket list !!!
Real pretty course
Really enjoyed the course. Really pretty, lots of elevation changes and great views. Fairways were still brown and dormant and some areas were still quite wet. Greens were in good condition and were quite challenging. We were just travelling through the area and found the course on Golf Now. Will play again if I have the opportunity.
This course has great views
I always enjoy coming here for the course and friendly staff. I like the variety of holes where you don't just hit driver wedge into every green. The up and down terrain is beautiful to look at and the course is challenging. I would give a better rating on the course conditions but they had the front nine basically washed out with flooding during week but still most holes were playable but definitely need to be re-seeded during spring. I always have a great time and have played with a lot of different people when there. Overall the course is fun and a great value . Look forward to playing it again soon.
Love it
This is one of my favorite because of its condition as well as the scenery. Would recommend it to all my friends
Greens are the worst I've ever seen on any course. Grass competent burned up. I heard they're closing down to repair them.
