Ocean Resorts Golf Club
About
Located just six miles west of Ocean City, Md., Ocean Resorts Golf Club is a good option if you're looking for a round that is fun to play but still a good value. The course is known for being player friendly enough for any skill level but there are still several challenges in store with multiple sets of tees that range from 4,800 to 6,500 yards. Water hazards come into play on a few holes and there are also several strategically placed bunkers you'll have to contend with. The layout rewards proper club selection and good strategy but it's not overly punishing for high handicappers. A unique aspect of Ocean Resorts is that it's owned by the Wor-Wic Community College.

Local knowledge a must
Can't beat the price as many courses often charge twice as much and limited tee times especially in the summer months. Pace of play may impact enjoyment. You need a lot of local knowledge. Several severe dog legs and layups in front of unseen water hazards. Most holes are used friendly.
Great Value, Lots of Fun!
From my last October round, posted on another golf site.."That went very well!! Woke up to a lovely morning and booked a $30 hot deal. Had enough time before going out for a small bucket on the range. Felt like I was making a good move though the ball and was able to actually take it to the first tee box and beyond! Had what passes for good control in my game pretty much around the course for a change. I think I had a chunk, a pull, and a couple of wedges go thin and hot on me, other than that pretty solid ball striking. Nice course for the price, this one is owned by the local community college I believe and the rates are always very reasonable. There were a couple of crusty fairways in the shady areas and some muddy soft spots that could be deadly if small child or elderly lady stepping in. Overall in real good condition, short and a little twisty in places but fun to play!
"
I thought this place was awful
Golfnow had a 4 star rating for this place. I would give it a 2 star. And if it was a 2 star course I would not have played!!
Tricky
> Short from the whites (5600+)
> Tricky layout - doglegs, forced layups...
> Good late season conditions except for a couple holes in the woods
> Feels like a "locals" course
> Overall good experience bur would have liked better with a "deal"
Great layout
Course was in average shape , quite a few fairways were aerated , but the greens were in great shape
Very quick and easy to 3 putt . Pace of play we played in under 4 hrs .
Look forward to my next round there , a real bargain compared to the other courses in the area.
Nice Layout
We had a very enjoyable around. The course was in fair condition due to the extremely wet fall.
Great Round
I had a great round of golf ona relatively easy course with few obstacle and good greens. The greens were in great condition. The fairways and tees were worn, with many bare spots, tractor tire chopped up areas, and the grass was spotty and thin.
Good Layout
Because it's at the beach, there can be no change in elevation. However, the course makes up for that by using distance, the woods, water, doglegs, and traps to make each hole different. Some of the tee boxes were in pretty bad shape but, in general, the course was in good condition. With the reasonable greens fees, OR is a good value.
Acceptable
Only 9 holes were open so you had to play the same 9 2x. That was fine but when you went to play the second nine, they were sending first nine players in front of you extending your play to 5 hours. I was also a little embarrassed when the gentleman came looking for me saying rhat we had lost one of the rental clubs. When we went to the bag he realized that the 5 wood was below the driver.
Great Day
Fairways could use a little work, and the greens had been recently aerated. All in all a great day though. This course is consistently one of the better values for money in the area.
Course laying is good but.....
If this course is managed by the Community College, then the students are not learning a lot. The conditions were ok because of all the rain. But year after year, the same holes have no grass e.g., the 15th. We assume there is no irrigation but it looks like they have not even planted any grass the other issue we had today, it that they allowed a 5 some in front of us who were blasting music. We just went around them!!! Unbelievable!!
Great place
Excellent staff and everyone else playing was very helpful. For being a new player others took time t ok help me out with the basic of golf.
Great course with excellent staff
Played 3 times this week and with a friendly staff and other golfer going out of their way to assist me as a new golfer.
