Ocean Resorts Golf Club
About
Located just six miles west of Ocean City, Md., Ocean Resorts Golf Club is a good option if you're looking for a round that is fun to play but still a good value. The course is known for being player friendly enough for any skill level but there are still several challenges in store with multiple sets of tees that range from 4,800 to 6,500 yards. Water hazards come into play on a few holes and there are also several strategically placed bunkers you'll have to contend with. The layout rewards proper club selection and good strategy but it's not overly punishing for high handicappers. A unique aspect of Ocean Resorts is that it's owned by the Wor-Wic Community College.

Playable After Rain
After a significant amount of rain for the past few days the course was surprisingly playable. The greens have been mowed and cars were allowed on the course. There were some wet spots on the fairways but not as many as you would think.
Par on number nine is a good score. It is short but required is an accurate second shot.
Ocean Resorts is a great value and conveniently located golf course.
Well Worth A Visit
The word "resorts" in their title can be a bit of a stretch but, a visit to this course will be well worth your time & money. The overall course conditions were acceptable & good but not to the level of a resort course. This was my first time playing the course. I played on a Wednesday in the afternoon. The pro shop joined me with a player who knew the course, so this was a help getting some local knowledge. If you get off the fairway you may face some uneven lies and obstacles but, in the fairway you'll have level lies. I thought the course had good distance markers - on the tee boxes, 150 yd PVC poles and colored concrete fairway blocks. Playing from the white tees I scored an 81. All in all a good golfing experience.
Fun course
The course is not as nice as others in the area and it appears to be a work in progress. I played this course 2 years ago and it is in much better shape now however it is not a premium course. It is a fun layout with greens that will challenge your putting skills. I thought the greens were shaggy and slow but were smooth and true. Tee boxes were lacking grass and were the grass was clumpy and looked to me like crabgrass. Even though the course was fun to play I feel the cost is a bit steep compared to other courses in the area.
several tee boxes were beat up,sometimes hard to follow course by looking at layout on card
A work in progress
Ocean Resorts is a "work in progress". That said, the Golf Now price to play here could not be beat!
The staff was very friendly and accomadating. The fairways and rough continue to require attention. The greens were decent. Many of the holes are fair to the average golfer and fun to play. I will return. It is a good choice if you just want to get out and hit the ball.
Beautiful course needs better maintenance
Nice layout, especially the back nine in the woods.
Greens shaggy and very slow, but nice undulations made putting difficult. Fairways and rough is less than ideal condition; fairways needed mowing
Fun Layout
Great golfnow value. a few uneven sparse tee boxes. very interesting, varied layout. several short par 4s where driver should stay in bag. ample landing areas. most holes have doglegs ,right and left. one short par 5, #15, is a dead straight corridor between trees, I found intimidating; but a two-putt birdie eased my mind. greens were in excellent conditions with many undulations. one approach landed ten feet short of the hole and ended 35 feet short; and I rarely spin the ball. woould definitely play again.
Great value
Proshop was excellent course was in good shape concidering the rain the day before I will be going back.
Great staff nice course
Have played this course each time I come to OC. Staff is always friendly, from club house to ground staff. Course offers challenges that keep you on your toes!
Great course for the money.
I enjoyed playing the course. Tough but fair if you had a good first shot. I would like to play the course again. Good golf for the value.
Hit the fairways
Course layout is a bit challenging if you don't hit the fairways. We had a group of 5 tee off at 1230, finished the first nine in less than 2 hours. Staff member came out to 9th green to tell us that we had to pick up the pace because we only had 1.5 hours to finish before 4 pm. Sunset on Nov 12th was 450. We finished at 415!
Needless to say very unprofessional. We got the impression that this staff member had somewhere to be! If they want people off the course at a certain time, I recommend posting that with available tee times or stop allowing tee times at 12:00 pm during the Fall!
Target golf
If you miss your fairway target or the green, the ball bounces or rolls on hardpan. Very little margin for error around the greens. Greens condition were ok and I really like their contour. Fairways were very patchy. Many interesting and challenging holes but too hard to save par or bogey when the ball rolls or bounces so far on misses. NEED MORE GRASS. I can break 80 on a good day but never have here because misses are penalized too severely. I really like this course and would play it more often, it's just not user friendly because of all of the above.
Jus,t fine
I read the less desirable reviews on this course, and decided to take the chance. It's really what you make of it. The course layout is great, challenging with dog legs, narrow fairways - especially the par 5 15th followed by an equally tough 16th that requires a 180 yd straight drive to stay clear of the water on the left and get past the dog leg right corner. The greens are tricky, pay close attention to the subtle slopes. Ok, the fairways are bad, just move the ball to some grass, the tee blocks also not good so find a decent spot to tee up. We had a great day of fun playing this course. If you don't like it, then go pay $75 USD on an upper scale course and knock it - but not this one for the price. Also, the clubhouse prices are very reasonable.
Fairways were dirtways
Love the course and layout. Very fair golf course. Greens were in great shape. Fairways were dirt wth very little grass. When the staff is aware of the condition Of the fairways, they should inform you and discount the fees.
Ocean Resort
enjoyed the course and will play it again. Be careful of the water hazards.
