Ocean Resorts Golf Club
About
Located just six miles west of Ocean City, Md., Ocean Resorts Golf Club is a good option if you're looking for a round that is fun to play but still a good value. The course is known for being player friendly enough for any skill level but there are still several challenges in store with multiple sets of tees that range from 4,800 to 6,500 yards. Water hazards come into play on a few holes and there are also several strategically placed bunkers you'll have to contend with. The layout rewards proper club selection and good strategy but it's not overly punishing for high handicappers. A unique aspect of Ocean Resorts is that it's owned by the Wor-Wic Community College.

Advanced warning about conditions
Great Price listed...
Found out why as course conditions were terrible...
Not something I would recommend but might play with beginner friends.
Not the best conditions
This was my first time playing in Ocean City, MD. My son and I played around 2 and when we got in the fairway we noticed the course was in bad shape. The greens were OK. The next time I play in OC I will visit the course perform the play.
Course in rough shape.
Beautiful course layout- with several challenging dog-legs. It was a shame so many of the fairways were in such bad shape. The course looks like it was hit by some turf disease and/or excessive water. Many fairways were scored and grass seed was planted; add that to the aeration/ plugging and it made for an awful round of golf. Had half a notion to request a refund. Hopefully, it will be in better shape in a year or so. I would like to play the course after it recovers.
Poor shape, goofy layout
Although the greens were in relatively good condition, the fairways and tee boxes were terrible. About 6 holes are the Mickey Mouse variety. Strange doglegs, several extremely narrow fairways and overgrown rough at this course took the pleasure out of playing golf. Friendly people at the pro shop and snack bar.
Pleasant Surprise
Bad weather has taken a toll on all the courses in the area. And they all seem to aerate at the same time. With that said, this course was very nice. Greens were coming back in nicely, but still not fun putting on them now. Some fairways were torn up and browned out. Plenty of water coolers. Cart paths and signs were very good.
Great value
This course is a great value for the price. The greens are in great shape and the layout is fairly open. On most holes, there is always an area to play it safe, however there are a few holes that have narrow fairways and some spots where you will need to lay it up if you do not hit your drive in the right place.
nice time
Good time. Individual behind the desk very helpful and friendly. Course in great shape
Great day at Ocean Resorts Golf Club
My wife and I booked the course through Golf Now and had a great time at afternoon play. Although we belong to a local golf club in Berlin we like to play other courses. This was the first time that we played at Ocean Resorts and we will be back. Dale was the pro shop staff member and he provided us with course information for our round at Ocean Resorts. Golf carts are new and without GPS. Markers on the course were very accurate. Dale was very hospitable and his guidance was very helpful. A+++ for customer service. Thanks Dale. Many of the fairways meander through the woods and provide lots of shade. Cart paths are asphalt so little if any dust to get in the face. The greens were in really good shape. Many of the fairways were in good condition while a few fairways had more weed like grasses than average turf. Pace of play was fabulous for us. Club house restrooms and Cafe were exceptionally clean. Café staff was very friendly. Thanks.
Sneakily Tough little course
Play the first 3 holes well because starting with the fourth hole this course gets tougher but I love it. The course was in great shape and the greens were excellent and true.
Atrocious Golf Course
This may be the worst golf course I've played in the Ocean City area. The tee boxes were sand, no grass. The course was a complete dog track.
Kind of simple. Slow playing. Lots of seniors
Course was slow playing with lots of older people who couldn't walk. Not to challenging and very narrow. I thought it was expensive got that course.
Would not play it again. Don't be fooled by the name it is far from the ocean or a resort.
Ocean Resorts
It's a shame that a course with such great potential is ruined by unfriendly staff, lack of course maintenance, and players who should spend more time at the range. These are some of my favorite holes. I love the variety of shots. A few holes require iron shots off the tee while others require you to hit driver. The folks that play here will not let you play through. I am usually paired with someone who plays at a different level. They pair me up even when the course is empty and no one is in front of me. It is a fun little course. Too bad that it is ruined by the local clientele.
Great conditions
Fairways and greens were in excellent condition.
Golf carts all in top shape. New ball washers on every hole. Fresh water and restrooms on course.
Tremendous value. Played 18 holes in 3.25 hours.
Will definitely go back.
Great Bang for the Buck
Challenging par'5's and par 4 water holes w/easier par 3's thrown in. Fast paced play is usually easily accomplished on weekdays and twilight times during the summer. Good prices and tee times available throughout the year.
Worth your time if you're in the area
I played the course with my wife on 04/02/16. The weather was ugly to start (light rain) and as such we had the course to ourselves. The rain let up after 4 holes and eventually the sun came out., making the day much more enjoyable. The course was in very nice shape, with the exception of a few tee boxes here and there. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Carts were gas powered and in decent shape. We didn't get a chance to try the food as the restaurant didn't appear to be open yet. The course seems more open and "linksy" on the front and tighter on the back. There are a few position holes and plenty where you can let the driver out. This was a nice play and we'll be back when we're in the area again.
Little below average
I would not pay over 20 $ a round to play this course
Great Staff and Improved Conditions
First the Staff and Pro were really really nice. The course is challenging enough for a fun round. The course conditions have come a long way in the last year. While improvements are still needed, the greens were in good shape.
Enjoyable round of golf
Really enjoyed my round. Front nine fairly wide open. Back nine very tight. Played from senior tees. Seemed short but tightness of holes makes up for it. Very friendly staff. Play it.
