SaddleBrooke Ranch Golf Club
About
Located in the North Tucson area, SaddleBrook Ranch Golf Club borders the Santa Catalina Mountains. The course meanders through the high Sonoran desert, incorporating natural washes into the design and providing stunning mountain views from almost every hole. Abundant desert flora and fauna further enhance the rugged, gently rolling terrain. The golf course offers a mix of challenging holes and player-friendly features, resulting in a layout with several interesting risk-reward opportunities that will appeal to low and high handicappers equally. The player-friendly fairways are generous, allowing beginners to feel comfortable with ample room off the tees and rewarding thoughtful play. There are also carefully placed mounds, hollows, and bunkers along the large, receptive greens that provide opportunities to recover an errant shot. The golf course is made even more versatile with five different sets of tees.

Pure Greens
Greens and Tee Boxes are phenomenal. Rest of course was in good shape too but the greens are just so pure right now.
Amenities
The ball washers were removed during Covid and not replaced. Staff said it was a corporate decision not to replace. There are no beverage carts and water is available in only 1 place on back 9. Today's round was cart path only for all holes - given recent rains many areas were wet so that was justified.
Excellent shape
Course was in great shape and the greens were awesome.
Always get to the tee time early so you can warmup. First time the staff would not give us a cart till 30 minutes to tee time. Had to lug bag from range to chipping green and putting green.
Fastest Greens in the West
I've played this course many, many times and never had the greens this fast. I'm not complaining because they were in perfect condition. Totally enjoyed the round as the rest of the course was as expected.
Not windy at all!
I’ve had friends tell me SaddleBrooke Ranch can be windy at times. I can certainly see how it could be but it was perfect the day we played. The course was in great shape and it was really fun to play. Challenging but not too difficult for a high handicap golfer. I had a couple of buddies in from Colorado and they had a great time.
Nice Course!
Played the course yesterday and was paired with a very nice couple that lived in Saddlebrook. They helped point us in the right direction and gave us a little local course knowledge. Enjoyed the course which was in nice shape. The wind was up a little bit which made the conditions little more challenging. The place of play was slow due to a foursome right in front of us that could not keep up with the groups ahead of them. It took over 4-1/2 hours to finish our round which was painful. Liked the course otherwise.
Best Value Tucson Area golf
This is quickly becoming one of my favorite courses. There is some forgiveness off of the tee, but it is plenty challenging. Course conditions are very good.
Excruciatingly Slow Play!
Wrote a recent very positive review about SR when theire was no one else on the course. Teed off yesterday around 3:00pm yesterday, as a single, with a reservation. 1st hole took 25 min. to play waiting behind a twosome. Skipped the 3rd hole to pass them and ran up against a foursome on #5 aleady off the tee in the fairway. Waited 10 minutes to tee off while they were still searching for balls and hadn't finished playing their tee shots. No ranger in sight. Skipped the hole and teed off immediately, as the next hole completely open. A twosome invited me to join them on the 7th hole and played 7-9 with them at a normal pace. Had enough by then. Need to have a ranger on course. Had I not skipped two holes it would have likely taken 2.5+ hours to finish 9 holes. Not acceptable.
Greens are Immaculate!
Have played the course a number of times through the years but not for the last 6 months so didn't know what to expect. Odd they wouldn't provide me with a cart until 15 minutes before my tee time, prefer not to warm up on mats and didn't notice any water stations on the front 9. Green fee was very reasonable. As far as course conditions, the tee boxes and fairways were in decent shape. The greens are what makes the course special. They are in fantastic condition. Hold approach shots, smooth as silk, perfect speed, no ball marks and putts hold their line. Among the best in Tucson. Worth the drive.
