Raining=empty course
Played on a drizzling day, it was cart path only but it was also empty. One of my pet peeves is feeling rushed or slowed down from a crowded course. The morning rain kept everyone away. Played a full 18 (or 36,54...), played multiple shots off the tee, was able to experiment on shots or even just take a mulligan with no worries of slowing down play. I started to get tired so I played the best ball off the tee on the final 3 holes. The course was soggy and greens were soft. Scored a hot deal that was a no-brainer. Always a fun course to play so if you have rain gear, give it a go when it rains.
John
Just slammed. Couple of tee boxes w 15 minute lulls. Hard to get a rhythm. Fun course though. Greens were pure for as much foot traffic as there was.
this Courier is bautifuel
Amazing golf course layout excelente,Greens in good condición,I recomend for every body
In general, the course is in good shape. The driving range is great. The fairways are very good with numerous rolling hills that provide numerous side hill shots. A good challenge for all golfers. The greens need some attention...by players repairing ball marks. The cart paths need some attention as well...very rough...consequently the carts take a beating as well.
Doesn't live up to potential
I live very close (have a range membership here) and pick up Hot Deal rounds or a 9 hole rate pretty regularly at Heritage. 3 or 4 months ago the course was in pretty good shape but that has done a complete 180. At the beginning of the year I thought the management was really putting some effort into improving some of the issues around the course, but I was wrong. It is absolutely beat up so badly right now that it's not very fun. Nobody fixes their ball marks which is a common problem at public courses but most of the greens have lots of large patches that are completely bare with no grass. These greens are challenging enough but are very frustrating when they don't even roll close to true because of their condition. They had improved some of the bunkers earlier in the year as well but they are back to being hard packed clay and aren't raked. I understand that we've had a rainy summer, but I play too many other courses with better conditions to buy that excuse entirely. Pace of play on weekends is a real issue with an average round lasting 5 hours. They have a marshal riding around on the weekends but I've never seen him addressing any pace of play issues. When you allow 200+ players a day on the course during the weekends, I guess that's what happens.
All in all, Heritage has potential to be a really good course but it is definitely not living up to that potential right now.
A Good Course that Could Be A Lot Better
Now that the summer heat has made a mess of quite a few greens, I wish the course superintendent would reduce the size of the putting surfaces by 10-20% and do a better job of taking care of what's left. Since many of the greens are very large, this will not change the character of the course, and it might speed up play a little.
The other major problem is that too many of the sand bunkers are very deep and when it rains hard they gulley-wash. Some should simply be filled in and grassed over because they're little better than mud holes; others don't need to be so deep. The green side bunkers on Legacy's fourth hole are probably the best on the course. There's your model.
Good layout too many people and needs maintenance
Have played here many times but not in a couple of years. Good layout and good course but too many people and too slow. 5 hour rounds need to be a thing of the past. Started told us they had 210 people playing that day. Greens were in poor shape bunkers worse. Nobody knows etiquette there and plays 9 or 10 shots, doesn't repair divots, doesn't rake. The course really needs sand in divots and bunkers and could be good. Fairways in solid shape and it's a fun challenging course. But unless they can speed up play I'm not coming back.
Never again
This course has the absolute worst maintained greens I've ever seen in my life. It was SUPER hilly too, which isn't too bad but it was a bit out of control. The worst was the many cliffs on many greens. It was like playing at a putt putt course, but putting over a gravel like surface with the way the ball would turn when rolling over the many dead spots, bare spots, chunks and holes. Even the bunkers were filled with grass and weeds (give me a break). The fairways are in decent shape though, I will give it that. For the cost this place charges ($50-70; $30 for twilight) there's no way I'd play here again. They really need to get that course and greens in way better condition for that cost!
Terrible for the money
Everyone seemed to hate there job. The greens were in terrible shape. Definitely not worth the money.
Really nice course
This course is beautiful....you'll definitely enjoy playing there.
Horrible staff
We played four some and the 2 guys(found out these guys were working in this golf course) followed us.
Our pace of playing was pretty good but those 2 guys pushed us to play fast and even hit the balls to the green in which we still play !
One of our 4somes was a lady and she nearly hit the ball !
Those guys told one of our 4somes waved them to play but it did not make any sense as they could see us to play in the green
clearly with their eyes.
To my surprise, those guys are staffs of this golf course !
They seems not to be trained at all how to treat their customers.
I will never come back here !
.
Green condition
Green was the worst conditions, I never played like this.....
Enjoyed the round
Course was in good shape, first time we played it and will definitely be back. The staff was friendly.
TOO SLOW!
they charge so much and the pace of play is just awful. I avoid going to Heritage unless i get a real good deal.
SPEED IT UP! 5+ hours every time.
Heritage Hills
Great for the price. Usually in great shape. Pace can become slow later in the day or later in the week. Greens have many hills and challenging breaks.
Pretty good
Great practice facilities. Good layout. Greens were slow. Pace of play was slower.
Good course
Lay out and fairway are all good but green is too slow and needs to upgrade the condition...
Château Élan Stay & Play Golf Package
This is exactly why I haven't bought a membership, and I live within two miles of the course. On top of that I'm retired, so I have plenty of time to play golf.
