Great conditions
Course is one of the best conditioned course in area. Only blemishes are some minor spots on the greens. Greens are receptive though and roll true. Restaurant has great food and decent prices for beverages. Fairways and tee boxes are in good shape. Course challenges you and you will likely use all the clubs in your bag. Recommend to anyone in area.
Great layout, bad bunkers
Course is laid out really well. Turf is in generally good condition.
Bunkers are in disastrous condition, bordering on being called waste. Rocky bottoms with clay heavy sand and almost all waterlogged.
Pace of play was pretty good and the turn dog was very tasty.
Somewhat disappointed
I used to love this course earlier this year because it was in such good condition, but after this round I’m hesitant to come back. The greens were in poor condition with dead spots, weeds, and overgrown grass that made them feel like putting on quicksand. The bunkers were not any better with rock hard sand and some rocks that made it impossible to get out of
Putting Greens need Help
I play this course when a couple time this year, putting greens are not doing so good. You can see the ball bouncing across the green when putting.
Great Course
This is our "home" course. Pace is quick and fairways in good shape. They still have issues with the bunkers not draining after rainy days. Plenty of challenge and cafe is fabulous.
good
overall was good. bunkers filled with waters and greens were a little rough.
Greens were a little rough
Putting greens on the front were a little rough. Plenty of rain in the area, so I don’t know why. A month ago they were in better condition. Course was basically empty at 1300 and I was able to play alone, never caught up with anyone or saw anyone behind me. I was 52 minutes ahead on the play clock.
Excellent layout for big hitters.
The course layout is very fun and wide open for a longer hitter, or someone looking to get work in with the driver. Beautiful conditions with the only downfall being the greens were very slow but receptive. I think the hot summer took its toll on them but overall it could have been worse. It was difficult to get a feel of how hard to truly putt the ball all day. Even downhill puts had to be hit way out of the comfort zone. If not for the greens this course is a possible eastern NC gem for the price. Would have played again if not for needing to get back home, would absolutely visit again.
Rough putting
The course was in good shape with the exception of the greens, which were recently aerated and sanded. It would have been nice to know this when scheduling our round.
Great Course
One of the best courses around. Definitely my go to in the area. Great staff!!
Great course layout but very dry
This course could be an incredible golf experience with its very impressive layout and design but it’s very dry right now and the bunkers are in desperate need of attention. For the value, I highly recommend playing this fun course but hope it gets some water soon.
Has a number of water hazards
First time playing this course. Found it to be a little easier than the Taberna course I am use to playing.
Only played 9 holes this time, but I will be back for a full 18 soon!
Beautiful course, friendly staff
This was our first time playing Carolina Colours and we really look forward to going back! The course is challenging but not too tough for a beginner. There times when driving to the next hole you felt like you’re in a nature park. It’s really pretty and the greens are in great shape. Also, the bar/cafe is excellent. Our party of three all had different sandwiches and they were all delicious. The beer is cold and cheap! The staff were really friendly, too, which was nice. We will definitely play here again. Off all the course we’ve played in New Bern this was our favorite.
sixsome. really?
great course, great value, friendly staff, but, in my 45 years of golfing, never had a sixsome in front of us, really slow and no golf etiquette, should NEVER be allowed.
