About
The Lakes Course at Firewheel is a links-style course that is loaded with water, and was a Dick Phelps creation on his return to Garland in 1987. Hole 7 is the most difficult–a long 549-yard par 5 that requires an approach over a pond.
Getting there : From Dallas, take Hwy. 75 north and exit Arapaho. Turn right and when you come to N. Garland Ave., turn left. Drive to W. Blackburn Rd. and turn west. The course is just down the road.

Great course, need marshall
Everything was good except that they had someone fishing on the course. This slowed down pace of play and created a dangerous situation because you has non- golfers in direct line of tee boxes. The teenagers could have serious ly injured had a stray shot hit them.
Solid course
The course was in great shape! Tee box, fairways, greens were solid. The rough wasn’t so rough and there were patches of dirt. Sometimes it was good and other times not so good for my game. Staff was really cool. Need to get more help on the drink cart. Only 1 person out there supporting both courses on a super hot day. Layout of the course is challenging and requires accuracy. Overall great value for the course.

Wow
Tee to green the course is a step above other public tracks and on par with even a few private clubs. Enjoyed the time there on a very hot day!
Really nice
The course is in great shape right now. I hope it stays like this for a while longer and summer doesn’t beat it up too much.
Took extra 35 minutes wait of 2 groups at 18th hole.
Pretty good round of playing until 17th hole.
18th hole was really trouble some for the players were spending more times for finished round.
Due to under repair near by creek and cart path for brocking cart in to the fairway.
Finally enjoy playing with wife but needs improved normal play through by mangemant or maintenances.
Best bang for your buck!
Course was in excellent condition for the price of the green fee. Will definitely play here again soon.
Shortened game due to rain
Managed to play only 10 holes since it started to rain. Started as a single ball but two from a later slot joined up in hole 3. The course itself was not unduly challenging and maintained reasonably well. The cart had GPS but no layout information, so had to rely on one of the other players who had played before for the layout. The pace was quite brisk and minimal waiting for the earlier 4-ball. Proshop staff were quick and professional. Did not use any other facility in the club.
