About
The original Squaw Valley course, Apache Links, opened in 1992–a Jeff Brauer design that is open on the front and more densely wooded on the back. Brauer’s work involved bringing in dirt to provide some mounding to the flat terrain, and he placed the course along a scenic creek that comes into play, mostly on the back.
No. 9 is the best hole on the front because of its split fairway. Macho men can go for the green by aiming over the lake–otherwise it plays a pedestrian 362 yards if you choose the left side, where it doglegs around the lake.
On the back, Nos. 15 and 16 are back-to-back par 4s that you’ll be glad to get out of the way. The 15th rolls 462 yards and doglegs right, requiring a tee shot over the creek. The long approach is especially challenging due to the long row of trees at the corner of the green. Hole 16 features an elevated green above Squaw Creek. Play for position off the tee because the hole is not long.

Great course & value
Course is in great shape. Windy day, cart girl was around every 3-4 holes. They have 2 18’s, there was a tournament on the other course which didn’t bother us. Took about 415 to play, not bad for a Sunday. It’s a little over an hour from south Dallas unfortunately or else I’d play these courses a lot more. Highly recommend it for

Great course, lousy amenities . Bring a cooler.
Love both courses here. Best value in DFW. Have had rough conditions since the great freeze, but that was two years ago.
We played Oct 4. It was 96 degrees. They do not have drinking water anywhere on this course. When we complained they blame it on the city ordinances, and tell us to buy it at their Rooster restaurant.
Played two rounds that day. It was 96 degrees. We saw beverage cart on hole 4 of the second round and then she was gone. Never told us lat call or anything. Did I mention it was 96 degrees?
I will play again, the course is that good, but I will bring my own cooler with beverages from my refrigerator.

Great Course/Great Shape/Great Staff
I played this course along with my son’s high school golf team. This course is in great shape. The undulating greens ran fast and true. The front 9 and back 9 present different challenges and deliver some great risk/reward decisions for all golfers. The staff is very helpful and always puts on a great tournament experience.

There were no water jugs out, and only saw the cart girl once. Would be nice to have water available being that it’s still warm.

Good course but no drinking water available on the course.
The overall course and experience was great . The only issue i had was there was no drinking water available on course unless you caught the beverage cart girl so stock up before teeing off

Great condition
I’ve played several courses in DFW with $100+ green fees and non compared to the shape of Sqaw Valley. Great course for a great price. And great food too!

Great staff &Great greens
In the drought the staff has taken extreme care of what matters. The greens were soft and well cared for. Staff was polite and knowledgeable. My young children could enjoy alongside me. Great course!

Very nice course
It was over 100 degrees out and they had no water anywhere to drink, wet a towel or refill your water bottle. Every-other course I’ve been playing within 50miles has water stations. No-one I talked to could understand other than to force you to buy from concession stand.

Good course
Course was in pretty good shape considering the heat and lack of rain. The greens were recently punched but should be back to normal in a week or so. The only negative is that there is NO water coolers anywhere on course. That could get dangerous in this intense heat. Overall, worth the drive!
