About
The original Squaw Valley course, Apache Links, opened in 1992–a Jeff Brauer design that is open on the front and more densely wooded on the back. Brauer’s work involved bringing in dirt to provide some mounding to the flat terrain, and he placed the course along a scenic creek that comes into play, mostly on the back.
No. 9 is the best hole on the front because of its split fairway. Macho men can go for the green by aiming over the lake–otherwise it plays a pedestrian 362 yards if you choose the left side, where it doglegs around the lake.
On the back, Nos. 15 and 16 are back-to-back par 4s that you’ll be glad to get out of the way. The 15th rolls 462 yards and doglegs right, requiring a tee shot over the creek. The long approach is especially challenging due to the long row of trees at the corner of the green. Hole 16 features an elevated green above Squaw Creek. Play for position off the tee because the hole is not long.

Wish I lived closer
The Links has had a few issues with the greens for the past couple months but they are almost back totally now. Great layout great service great amenities great practice area. If I lived closer I would play this course all the time!

Nice find
My boss had raved to me about this course for years but I never had reason to drive 1.25 hours to get down there.
Monday the day before the 4th of July provided us with the chance to play it as they still had a few early times when I looked Saturday. The course has a few blemishes on a few greens from the fungus and the bunkers could use a little more TLC. The rough was like we were playing a Major. I also had trouble on the long par 4s and I played the senior tees, so bring your A game! We had a good time even with all of that.

Course in GOOD condition
I travel an hour from the north to play Squaw Valley when I am currently a member at another club because of their course conditions.

Love the course
Played the links course which recently reopened! I was in decent shape. Some issues on the edges of the greens but overall it only affected a few putts here or there. It may be on of my favorite courses to play lately.

Hidden Gem
This course has 36 holes one links style and the other traditional. The links side has been closed for a few weeks just to allow the greens to recover from heavy play. The course layout is very fun to play. For a municipal course this is a great value including senior rates. Pace of play is usually good but every once in a while you have to deal with some dragging. Course has a restaurant and private meeting room with a good menu.
Plenty places to stay in Glen Rose.

Fun course
Fun course, unfortunately didn't get to finish since the rain came in. Finished 12 holes and will be going back to run the course again just will check the weather before leaving the house lol.

No greens
Not sure what is going on but the Links has always been one of my favorite courses and well worth the drive, but it is in terrible condition. The greens were unplayable, fairways were not to bad, but overall just not good.
