About
The original Squaw Valley course, Apache Links, opened in 1992–a Jeff Brauer design that is open on the front and more densely wooded on the back. Brauer’s work involved bringing in dirt to provide some mounding to the flat terrain, and he placed the course along a scenic creek that comes into play, mostly on the back.
No. 9 is the best hole on the front because of its split fairway. Macho men can go for the green by aiming over the lake–otherwise it plays a pedestrian 362 yards if you choose the left side, where it doglegs around the lake.
On the back, Nos. 15 and 16 are back-to-back par 4s that you’ll be glad to get out of the way. The 15th rolls 462 yards and doglegs right, requiring a tee shot over the creek. The long approach is especially challenging due to the long row of trees at the corner of the green. Hole 16 features an elevated green above Squaw Creek. Play for position off the tee because the hole is not long.

Great use of land
Rolling slopes, well placed lakes, sizeable greens all made for a character course that was very enjoyable. I can't wait to play it again as well as the Apache Links course also at Squaw Valley.
Two different nines
First time on the Apache Links. Front nine fairly easy layout although the wind can create some havoc. Back nine totally different, trees, water tighter fairways, some elevation changes. Overall though had a great time, fun to play.

Great course
Both courses are excellent. I wanted to play both this week, but the weather didn't hold up. Always love to visit Squaw Valley every year. Will be back.

Awesome!!!
There is a reason I drive an hour to this course and play it more than any other course during the year! The layout is fantastic with a variety of holes - design and difficulty. Very few houses around the course. Conditions and pace of play are great. The greens were very fast. And Duff, Steve, and Stuart do a great job of making you feel welcome.

This course is better than the Lakes
If you have a choice when playing at Squaw Valley, pick the Links course. It is a more scenic course, play is a little more challenging, and seems to move at a better pace.

For winter conditions it was great
This is the 2nd time to play here. It is very much worth the trip from Waco. They take great care of this course as if it was a jewel.

Very fun course
Fun course to play. Greens are super fast and undulating. Greens rolled great. Fresh load of sand in the bunkers made them more difficult. Canadian Geese have taken over #7 Tee box with their feces but that was really the only complaint. Nice folks in the clubhouse.

When we started out it was 30 degrees and the course look as good as most courses during the spring. This course is amazing, if you haven't played it is a must play course.

Outstanding Facility
Course is in great condition, staff is incredible, they are friendly and very helpful. Greens roll very true and fast. They also have an outstanding practice area with two putting greens, bunker green, and very nice driving range.

Excellent challenge
I've played golf for over 20yrs am a solid 7hcp and have played courses all over the country. This is a great challenge the greens are huge and the ball rolls true! Best greens around, you have grass in the fairways, the only thing they could improve would be the bunkers. Other than that this is the best bang for your buck...

Two great layouts
Love playing the Lakes, but the Links is just as nice. I live in far North Ft Worth, takes an hour and 15 minutes to make the drive. It's just worth the drive. I've always finished my rounds in 4 hours here.

Great Place to Have a Relaxed Round of Golf
I just happened to see this course on my way up to Dallas. Decided to give it a try and I don't regret doing it. Great golf course, fairways and greens in very good conditions. I enjoyed the scenery a lot. Will be back

Worth the trip
Took us a little under four hours to complete the round. Layout of the links course is a little plain to start with, but has some great design features from #7-18. Really well maintained, good-great putting surfaces. Will be back.
Enjoyable Round of Golf
The management was very understanding when we had someone who was late in our group and squeezed us in after a tournament passed thru. Course was in good shape small trouble areas were GUR but understandable in these Texas conditions.

Except for course bathrooms, with Snake warnings and cleanness, the golf course was in great good condition for play, and enjoyed playing both course for the first time.
