About
The original Squaw Valley course, Apache Links, opened in 1992–a Jeff Brauer design that is open on the front and more densely wooded on the back. Brauer’s work involved bringing in dirt to provide some mounding to the flat terrain, and he placed the course along a scenic creek that comes into play, mostly on the back.
No. 9 is the best hole on the front because of its split fairway. Macho men can go for the green by aiming over the lake–otherwise it plays a pedestrian 362 yards if you choose the left side, where it doglegs around the lake.
On the back, Nos. 15 and 16 are back-to-back par 4s that you’ll be glad to get out of the way. The 15th rolls 462 yards and doglegs right, requiring a tee shot over the creek. The long approach is especially challenging due to the long row of trees at the corner of the green. Hole 16 features an elevated green above Squaw Creek. Play for position off the tee because the hole is not long.

The Links has great greens!
Even though it's a little bit of a drive from DFW the courses at Squaw Valley are always worth the trip. Glad I don't live in Glen Rose or I would be at TJ s could re send every day!
Great Course
Played the links course. Course condition is excellent. Really enjoyed it.

Great time at the Links!
Squaw Valley is always a great place to play but it is exceptional this time of the year. The Links course was in terrific condition, the fairways and greens were all in fantastic shape.
The course is challenging but offers opportunities to go low. I especially enjoy the drivable par 4 7th hole.
Overall, Squaw Valley is home to two of the best courses in this area and well worth the drive for the quality of the play offered here. I'd highly recommend that you try it out if you're in the area.
The drive was worth the golf
I had wanted to play at Squaw Valley for sometime and finally made it happen. It's about an hour drive for me but so worth it. Pretty drive and even prettier course. I loved my experience and promise to not wait so long before returning. I actually played the Lakes course and it was a gem!

Would not have played if known the greens had just been punched.Purchased tee time on Golfnow.Will call the golf course before purchasing tee time off golfnow in th furture.
Hidden Gem
This course is always in good shape, friendly atmosphere, and keeps you focusing on your game. Recommend this course to all handicaps as you can bite off as much as you desire. We played the blue tees and it was just over 6700 yds.

Nice Course
The course was in very good condition. Greens were true, sand was in good shape, as were the fairways. We teed off as a twosome around noon, and completed our round in 3 1/2 hours. I was leary after reading no beverage cart, but there were several locations with free cold bottled water in ice chests, and they do have a grill. I will definitely play Squaw Valley again.

worth the travel time
The course has been well kept and green. The greens are in great condition and are not lightening fast. I am sure anyone who plays this course will be happy he or she did.

Great Course vs Value.
Even after a week of rain the course was in great shape. We didn't wait at all, staff extremely friendly, course was full of character, especially back 9 going back and forth across the creek. Only complaint is the amenities, no gps on carts, nothing special about food, nothing special about dining area in the clubhouse. The pro shop sort of blends into the dining area. Overall there aren't any complaints about the course. And for the price, it's one of the best. Will definitely be back.

Very nice layout. Wide fairways.
Well worth the drive. Beautiful course with country setting. Large practice greens and nice driving range. Fairly easy course. Fairways are wide and greens are consistent. Would recommend this course to everyone and would make the drive to play again myself.

Never had a problem out here. Probably never will.
This would be the sixth time I've played out here. Never had a problem with the staff, pro shop, or course. Always in great shape, I can tell the course staff takes a lot of pride in this 36 hole course.

Apache is a nice links course with good greens.
You can recover from an errant shot, greens were fast.
