Prairie Lakes Golf Course - Blue Course

If you play Prairie Lakes you already understand that you are on your own on the course as they do not offer cart service. That's easy to accept when the course is in shape but when the greens are as bad as they are now it's just not any fun to play this grand old track.

Very nice municipal course for a wide range of skill level players. A lot of water in play compared to other courses in the area.

I would have rated this course a 1 star, but there are some decent par 3s, the staff was really friendly, and they had some good food. BUT... this isn't why I play a round of golf. This course has jammed 27 holes into what should be a 18 hole lot. Wherever you are on the course you can see all the other holes. It just runs together and most holes are straight and boring. If you can even break 100 do not come here. This course is not for someone who appreciates the game and is looking for a better challenge. Ohhhh... and there are no sandtraps.

Pace of play is so slow if you want to be done in 4 hr forget it it was 15 minutes on most tee boxes waiting. A lot of walkers and they will not let you play through. I understand walking but let the other groups play through. The greens had what I call land mines on them the green weeds that reroutes the ball and when you have something on the line you don't want to lose by that. Staff,barbecue is Great. O yea the Marshall that ties a round just blows you off when you ask about passing and No cart ppl on course and it's full of ppl. I will not ever return again. Thanks

The course was in good shape. Don't want you to carry a cooler on course, but don't have cart girls!!

White Course had no sand traps but several challenges around the water. Blue course had no sand and not as many water challenges. Be sure and have a bite to eat at Eddlemon's BBQ.

The White course has plenty of water hazards....and for a guy that has a shot shape of left to right....man was it ever a rough day. Still had a great time being out there considering it was December. Swallow your pride off the tee box and hit your woods to ensure a manageable second shot and you'll do just fine.

Pace of play was great even when crowded. Lots of water to carry on several holes - fun, fun!

Since I returned from 17 years of living in Woodstock Georgia, one of the nicest surprises that I have found is Prairie Lakes Golf Course - old Grand Prairie municipal. The layout hasn't changed and presents a challenge but is not overly difficult. The greens are always in outstanding condition and the rest of the course is maintained very well, especially for a muni! (That's the surprise - wasn't always that way!). This course with 27 holes is a great value option.

The course was in great shape, lots of golfers out which is a good thing. Great flow of traffic. Challenging course, excellent greens.

Staff is not the friendliest. Especially in the restaurant. Need to continue to work on it. They do not understand body language and how to properly address customers. Not rude but not professional either.

Very good course but pace to slow

Fairways are near perfect. Greens roll true. What else can you ask for?

Lots of trees, but open enough to find wayward shots. This is a course that looks like it should be easy with no traps & no thick woods, but then you see the great challenge (especially the white) that the par 3's present and that you can't spray tee shots all over the place due to the bit narrow fairways you really appreciate what a great course this is. Very fair, but not easy. Easy walking course. Greens are in fantastic shape. Good speed & true roll. In a nutshell this course is a true gem and the staff is very friendly. Great BBQ also.
