About
Tangle Ridge Golf Club's location near Joe Pool Lake is favorable because of the elevation changes that spice up this well maintained public course. The course offers some outstanding holes, highlighted by impressive bentgrass greens that putt true. In addition to the elevation changes, Jeff Brauer's design features generous fairways lined by thick brush and huge trees. Two holes grab your attention on the front side. The opener goes 469 yards and might be the most difficult on the golf course. While there aren't too many hazards, bunkers protect the fairway and green, and the thick rough lining the fairway makes it a difficult long approach if you miss the smooth stuff off the tee. Tangle Ridge Golf Club's eighth hole is considered the signature: a 575-yarder that rolls downhill off the tee to a creek that cuts the fairway at 300 yards out. The approach on no. 8 must carry the creek to an elevated green protected by two massive mounds.

Great Track
Terrific layout, enjoyed the elevation changes. It was a very windy day and the greens were lightning fast. Will definitely play it again when the weather is better.

Fun course
Greens have lots of poana right now. Not one put rolled true when I played. Weather has been rough so understandable. Course layout is legit. Very nice. Lots of elevation changes and greens are big. Par 5s require perfect drives to even have a chance at going for it in 2 if you are playing from the tips. Hate the separate fairways on them cause u are forced to limit your drives or drive over the creeks.

Fun course
Great layout with sloping fairways to challenge the tee shots and approach shots on par 4s. Pricey for a small warmup bucket at the range since the ball machine was out of service.

Tangle Ridge
One of my favorite corses in DFW . Wide open , elevation changes , all around a good test and an enjoyable place to play. At this time of year the conditions are a little tough. Fairways are dormant so lies are tight. Greens are rough in spots. Many signs of efforts to improve the facility including long needed repairs to cart paths on several
holes. By April / May the course will green up and be back to being a nice public venue . Reasonably priced . I would recommend this track to my friends.

Tangle Ridge - A must play Jeff Brauer, ASGCA designed course.
Which is a better course: Cowboys Golf Club or Tangle Ridge. Both were designed by the same architect. The Cowboys Club green fee >$200. Tangle Ridge green fee prime time >$68. Clearly, Tangle Ridge offers the golfer a superior experience.

Delayed start
Good course layout and greens roll great. Besides that staff was rude, no balls in the range machine, Start was delayed hour and half because of ice.. but once we started we made up time nicely with pace of play being sped up. Would consider coming back in spring.
