About
Tangle Ridge Golf Club's location near Joe Pool Lake is favorable because of the elevation changes that spice up this well maintained public course. The course offers some outstanding holes, highlighted by impressive bentgrass greens that putt true. In addition to the elevation changes, Jeff Brauer's design features generous fairways lined by thick brush and huge trees. Two holes grab your attention on the front side. The opener goes 469 yards and might be the most difficult on the golf course. While there aren't too many hazards, bunkers protect the fairway and green, and the thick rough lining the fairway makes it a difficult long approach if you miss the smooth stuff off the tee. Tangle Ridge Golf Club's eighth hole is considered the signature: a 575-yarder that rolls downhill off the tee to a creek that cuts the fairway at 300 yards out. The approach on no. 8 must carry the creek to an elevated green protected by two massive mounds.

Long round
I have played this course quite a few times. Overall, the course is a fun layout and the people are nice. There is a major problem though. The pace of play is always slow. They have recently allowed groups of 5 to play which makes it even worse. If you have 5 hours to play a week day round you will enjoy it. For most the pace is brutal.

Greens need some work
Course is a fun and challenging course with several elevation changes. Greens were in below average shape for this course, lots of weeds and bumpy spots. Most of the course was in good shape. Too much sand in most of the bunkers and rough not high enough yet to stop balls from going in the woods. Aeration may help greens, but they need some TLC.

Do not play until greens are improved
The course (tees fairways) were fine, traps ok, the greens on the other hand were terrible! Lots of weeds and very rough. No way to make any putts over 3-5 feet as the ball could not stay on line. Will not return for a good while.

Great Course but greens are hit or miss
It's one of my favorite layouts in DFW, very fun to play. You will most likley hit every club in the bag which is a nice change from the usual muni. The greens are the issue, all of them have been infested with some sort of weed casuing them to be hilariously bumpy and difficult to putt. When the greens are in decent shape this place is a must play.

Great course
I brought my best friend form Ohio and it was by far his favorite course of the 3 will played. I tell everyone if I had just 1 course to play available to the public it would be here!

You get your money's worth
I would have to say this course being a public course provide a nice golf course for the average golfer who loves the game for a very reasonable price.
I call it my home course even though I live in Arlington.

Course not in as good shape as it was last time I played there. Greens recently sanded, so greens were a little bumpy

Awesome Layout
The layout for this course is awesome, undulating fairways and greens , trees; water and lots of bunkers. Each hole made you think which clubs and strategy
Overall course was in good condition, only downside was the greens which had lots of tufts on them which made putting challenging
Look forward to playing again in a month or so once greens have improved

Great Track
Terrific layout, enjoyed the elevation changes. It was a very windy day and the greens were lightning fast. Will definitely play it again when the weather is better.
