About
Tangle Ridge Golf Club's location near Joe Pool Lake is favorable because of the elevation changes that spice up this well maintained public course. The course offers some outstanding holes, highlighted by impressive bentgrass greens that putt true. In addition to the elevation changes, Jeff Brauer's design features generous fairways lined by thick brush and huge trees. Two holes grab your attention on the front side. The opener goes 469 yards and might be the most difficult on the golf course. While there aren't too many hazards, bunkers protect the fairway and green, and the thick rough lining the fairway makes it a difficult long approach if you miss the smooth stuff off the tee. Tangle Ridge Golf Club's eighth hole is considered the signature: a 575-yarder that rolls downhill off the tee to a creek that cuts the fairway at 300 yards out. The approach on no. 8 must carry the creek to an elevated green protected by two massive mounds.

Great Track
Always a fun course to play. Sometimes the pace on the weekend can be slow but that's weekend golf. Food service is limited.

This course was subpar this time.
First, the shop was closed really early. It was about 2:30 and we tried to get some snacks and drinks but they had already shut down for the day which was very odd to us. Second, It felt like the staff was forcing us out of the course. It was still bright outside and it felt like the staff just wanted to hurry and get us out of there. Telling us they will lock the gate if we wanted to stay the night over.

Great Track
The course offers challenging holes. Lots of tress, plenty of water and plenty of undulation. Well designed for the slightly above average amateur. The landing areas are fair and the greens can be a bit challenging depending on pin placements. They have made tremendous improvements upgrading their sand traps recently. Overall, it is one of my favorite tracks to play in the DFW area.

Excellent Experience
From Tangle Ridge Bar & Grill to the course, this was a top notch experience. My family and I spent the day golfing and had the best time there. The staff is professional, friendly and welcoming. The restaurant(clubhouse) food is delicious, and very fairly priced!!! We will be going back and I will be recommending this place to peers and friends.

First time out
After the frost delay, my buddy and I ran through the 1st 9 holes in an hour and 45 mins, it was awesome! My buddy had to get going after that but as a single I was able to play the last 9 in about 45 mins flat! I also shot my 2nd best score ever, 97. Can’t wait to come and play this course again!

Hill Country feel
TangleRidge is my home course as I live in the LakeRidge subdivision about 1 mile from the course.
The course is well maintained and in excellent shape.
Greens were quick.
Fun course to play from blue or white tees. Low handicappers will find a challenge from back tees.
Never tire of playing the course.
