About
Tangle Ridge Golf Club's location near Joe Pool Lake is favorable because of the elevation changes that spice up this well maintained public course. The course offers some outstanding holes, highlighted by impressive bentgrass greens that putt true. In addition to the elevation changes, Jeff Brauer's design features generous fairways lined by thick brush and huge trees. Two holes grab your attention on the front side. The opener goes 469 yards and might be the most difficult on the golf course. While there aren't too many hazards, bunkers protect the fairway and green, and the thick rough lining the fairway makes it a difficult long approach if you miss the smooth stuff off the tee. Tangle Ridge Golf Club's eighth hole is considered the signature: a 575-yarder that rolls downhill off the tee to a creek that cuts the fairway at 300 yards out. The approach on no. 8 must carry the creek to an elevated green protected by two massive mounds.

Rude Mr. Mike
Played this course on a cold windy day with two 3 somes. No one on the course. No group waiting so we played 2 groups together until another golf group would catch up. Planned to immediately breakup into two the 3 somes when other golfers came up behind. No other golfers were even 2 holes behind but Mr. Mike came up to the group very rude, telling us he was going to tear up our cards and kick us off the course.
Don’t know why he was being so rude. We are golfers and professional men having fun. We hate waiting on slower players too and understand pace of play well but It was his approach that was unsettling almost cussing us out instead of approaching my group with more respect. I bet if it were his family members his approach would be different. I hope he learns from his approach. He seemed mad that my group was having a good time on a great course, on a very cold morning. We did finish our rounds. I guess Mr. Mike had a bad day. In general most of the staff are nice but several were frankly very, very rude. I guess that’s one of the reasons it is not very heavily played the few times I’ve been there. Management should be aware of staff members who can’t by their nature be friendly.
Hill Country feel south of Dallas
Nice layout. Normally good conditions. Greens are nice. Cart paths a crumbling. But the golf is worth it.

Great area coursr
Love playing here. Greens are in good shape and roll smooth. Fairways are well maintained. Sand traps usually need work but are playable. I have played there since it opened.

First timer
First time to play this course. There was a hot deal being offered so figured why not. Started on time, but asked to begin our round from the back 9. Not an issue.
Fairways wide and in very good condition. Greens were inconsistent. Some ran fast and others were on the shaggy side and slow. Never saw a beverage cart.
Looking forward to returning. .

Return Round
Even though the course is a 45 minute drive for me from North Dallas, it is worth the trip. Course is in great condition and the topography is unique comparwd to most "flat" Dallas courses.

Never disappoints
Though I dont get to play here much when I do I enjoy it immensely. Great elevation changes make it play like a
Hill Country course. Always in great condition. Pace of play today was a little slow but bearable. Id recommend this course to anyone.
