About
Tangle Ridge Golf Club's location near Joe Pool Lake is favorable because of the elevation changes that spice up this well maintained public course. The course offers some outstanding holes, highlighted by impressive bentgrass greens that putt true. In addition to the elevation changes, Jeff Brauer's design features generous fairways lined by thick brush and huge trees. Two holes grab your attention on the front side. The opener goes 469 yards and might be the most difficult on the golf course. While there aren't too many hazards, bunkers protect the fairway and green, and the thick rough lining the fairway makes it a difficult long approach if you miss the smooth stuff off the tee. Tangle Ridge Golf Club's eighth hole is considered the signature: a 575-yarder that rolls downhill off the tee to a creek that cuts the fairway at 300 yards out. The approach on no. 8 must carry the creek to an elevated green protected by two massive mounds.

Great course in great shape at a great price.
I play all over the metroplex, normally every 1-2 weeks. Bogey golfer. This course is in beautiful shape, and I think is set up great for a guy like me who shot an 88, and the guy we played with who shot 4 over (shout out to Scott! Great guy). Wide fairways lined with trees, elevation changes, and beautiful water features. Carts have GPS and hole layouts. Super quick but smooth greens and fairways. Price was great for the quality too. Definitely coming back.

Overall good experience
Overall good experience. Course is in good shape and pace of play was fine. Greens rolled true, just wish people would repair their ball marks! Only complaint, got a small bucket of balls ($4.00) to warm up and only got 13 balls from the automatic ball dispenser which was about half full on the small bucket.

Great as usual
We enjoyed a great mid week round here. The course was in excellent condition. This is a great track and will challenge all levels. For the price it can't be beat. It has all the amenities you need. All of us would recommend Tangle Ridge to anyone in the DFW area.

Love this course! Moved away, so this was my first time to play it in almost two years. It was like seeing an old friend. The only thing is all the ball marks on the greens. I get it, it gets tons of play, and few people fix their ball marks, and some don’t know how. So, just be prepared to putt across an old pitch mark. It’s not TR’s fault, it’s just the way it is.

Second time
Price so good because I had a GolfNow promo code.
The course had me start on #10 this time around.
Reading the hole description on the website is good to read for course guidance.
Greens were fast. Tee boxes, fairways, & greens were in good shape.
It appears that portions are under renovation, as the wooded area 100-150 yards in front of the par-5 8th green has been chopped down.

Course was fantastic...first time playing it today and here is my honest review:
Staff - C
Range Balls - F
Cart - B
Course - A+
Overall - B+
Staff - average at best. Not very friendly & slow as Christmas.
Pro Shop - decent but had way too many signs. (Start on 10, cart fees if one rider, no coolers, etc...complete overkill and looked very tacky!!
Small bucket of balls was $4, got about 12 balls. Total scam. Range was very generic.
Course was fantastic... a bit odd to start on 10 but suppose that was needed today for whatever reason. Very well laid out and challenging. Bunkers were good.
Cart - governor needed some TLC or a tune up perhaps. Very quick one minute & crawling the next.
Marshall’s - saw one time on the first hole...never again. Pace of play was brutal. 2 or 3 groups on every tee box. Foursome in front of us each had their own carts but were extremely slow. Only real damper on the great course minus the range ball dispenser scam.
Overall very enjoyable round. Hopefully the pace of play and range balls were an exception today and can be remedied.

Super fun course
VERY FUN COURSE. Not overly long but a nice variety of holes. Great piece of property! Lots of undulation and mounding in fairways. Nice elevation changes. FUN COURSE

Great layout, cut/roll greens
Love playing here. Been a while. Great layout. Greens aren’t bad, just inconsistent on same green and different greens. Just needed to be cut and rolled for consistency.
