About
Tangle Ridge Golf Club's location near Joe Pool Lake is favorable because of the elevation changes that spice up this well maintained public course. The course offers some outstanding holes, highlighted by impressive bentgrass greens that putt true. In addition to the elevation changes, Jeff Brauer's design features generous fairways lined by thick brush and huge trees. Two holes grab your attention on the front side. The opener goes 469 yards and might be the most difficult on the golf course. While there aren't too many hazards, bunkers protect the fairway and green, and the thick rough lining the fairway makes it a difficult long approach if you miss the smooth stuff off the tee. Tangle Ridge Golf Club's eighth hole is considered the signature: a 575-yarder that rolls downhill off the tee to a creek that cuts the fairway at 300 yards out. The approach on no. 8 must carry the creek to an elevated green protected by two massive mounds.

I really enjoy Tangle Ridge. And for the price I saw on golfnow it was a no brainer. The course is in fine condition. I recommend this course to anyone. It has all you need to have a good day of golf.

Great layout, good value, but could improve
First time playing; clubhouse staff was a little unfriendly and seemed annoyed with the 1-2 questions I had. They had run out of range balls at 4:00 in the afternoon and had no desire to retrieve them. Really enjoyed the course, it’s in great shape! Pace of play wasn’t great, they really could have used a ranger out there to move things along. No reason we should’ve been waiting that long on some holes. It’s a bit of a drive from downtown Dallas, not sure if it was worth the hour commute there and back.

Tangle Ridge is a hidden gem in Grande Prairie. An amazing course with picturesque views, definitely worth every penny.

Course is in good condition
The back tees were moved off to the side and never replaced. Staff were to busy talking to answer my questions.
