Tangle Ridge Golf Club's location near Joe Pool Lake is favorable because of the elevation changes that spice up this well maintained public course. The course offers some outstanding holes, highlighted by impressive bentgrass greens that putt true. In addition to the elevation changes, Jeff Brauer's design features generous fairways lined by thick brush and huge trees. Two holes grab your attention on the front side. The opener goes 469 yards and might be the most difficult on the golf course. While there aren't too many hazards, bunkers protect the fairway and green, and the thick rough lining the fairway makes it a difficult long approach if you miss the smooth stuff off the tee. Tangle Ridge Golf Club's eighth hole is considered the signature: a 575-yarder that rolls downhill off the tee to a creek that cuts the fairway at 300 yards out. The approach on no. 8 must carry the creek to an elevated green protected by two massive mounds.

Rain Check Denied
We arrived with rain coming down so we knew it would be a wet day. After I paid $75, the young man at the desk Advised there will be no rail checks provided today. This struck us as unusually abnormal, especially if thundering /lightning came in.
We made it thru 4 holes until lightning struck above us and we decided it wasn’t safe to continue playing. I am surprised a nice course like this would have no rain check and proved that money was more important than their customer’s safety.
Also, one of the members in my group asked if he could play 9 due to the weather and was quoted $66 or $75 for 18, so he left. Not sure if the real management is aware of these young guys operating the course like this, but I would imagine this is not what they expect.
Great DFW Course
A great course in DFW I had never played before. The course was challenging and fun with several fairway bunkers. Took over 5 hours for the round but there was a fog delay so they were unusually backed up.

I really like this track
one of my favorite courses to play, especially for the price on a hot deal. closest course to my house too, so that helps. Greens were in good shape this time and fast, till after it rained and misted some.
Fun course to play!
The course layout was fun! Lots of creative holes! Greens had plenty of different elevations!
Course a little dry however it is fall- winter golf!

Solid course
Greens were running fast and true.
Pace was great on front 9 but things were backing up half way through back 9.
Course is normally $75 on weekends. We had hot deal for $55. Definitely worth $55 but would not pay $75.
Cart gal was friendly and came around three times.
New battery powered carts but they no longer have GPS.
Course was in good shape and has a fun layout with lots of different types of holes (short, long, doglegs both ways, strategic bunkering, elevation, water, etc). Only negative was having a fivesome in front of us all day made for a nearly 5 hour round (teed off just before noon and didn't finish until 4:48); even with a "starter" calling tee times and pairing smaller groups together, as a foursome we waited on every hole.
