GlenRiddle Golf Club - Man O' War Course

About
GlenRiddle Golf Club is home to two championship courses that offer completely distinct golfing experiences. The Man O' War Course is situated on the western portion of the club, sweeping across a sand dune-covered landscape that is perfect for a round of Scottish links-style golf. The large greens, double fairways, and deep pot bunkers will make you feel as though you've been transported to the British Isles. The ever-present winds blowing in from the eastern shore further adds to its authenticity. On the site of the golf course there is an old racetrack that was used to train champion thoroughbreds, part of the track is now used as a strategic cross-hazard that comes into play on three holes. The golf course begins gently with a front nine that is wide-open but becomes progressively more challenging, primarily with the presence of water hazards.

My favorite OC Course!
Glen Riddle Man O War is my favorite course. However, this particular day pace of play was very slow and we didn't get to finish. We got 15 holes in and it was too dark to finish. For the price paid, they should not overbook the course so that everyone can finish. Or make sure the marshalls keep people on the proper pace of play.
Has potential...
My experience here wasn't that great. I paid only $25 so I wasn't as upset but I will say if I paid full price I would have been a little mad. The fairways weren't that great, you had no idea where you were hitting to on over half the holes even with GPS help. It wasn't the best layout either. Pace of play wasn't an issue. Pro shop personnel seemed agitated that I showed up an hour early of my time to practice.
If you're in OC, try Eagles Landing (muni) instead of this. That was a great course!
Great Course - Good People
The course was in good condition, a beautiful manicured course challenging. And forgiving at times. The staff is accommodating and friendly. Would like to see more price deals, a little pricey in this economy.

We had a great day. Starter met us, set us up with range balls. We had a tee time but he said let me know when you are ready. He was very friendly, updated us on the course and items, and really started our day out nicely.
