Clear Creek Golf Course
About
Clear Creek Golf Course is a flat, wide-open links-style track loaded with water and bunkers. The only sort of elevation changes you'll experience come from the ravines that route through the course and the undulating greens.
The back nine is the more challenging, spiced up by some interesting par 3s and two outstanding par 5s. Clear Creek's 11th hole goes 555 yards and involves an approach over a ravine, and No. 13 is a 584-yard monster that double-doglegs to a skinny green framed by bunkers.

Golf Day with my Bro
The greens were rough - given the freeze and weather, not a surprise. So it'll be several weeks for some of them to come back. I like the track...
Greens are rough
The course layout is interesting and fun but the greens are not worth the price at all. Staff was friendly and the food was good. Just need to get the greens under control and speed up the pace of play.
Decent Public Course
For 40 bucks, I have played better kept courses for less but not in Houston. Otherwise, its not a bad course and I enjoy it. I would love to see tapped beer and even a decent bar on the 19th hole. Don't get me wrong. I'll come back, but this is what I feel would make it better.
Golf in Houston
The course hasn't recovered from winter activity and most of the greens were full of poa annua patches after the recent freeze killed the greens. Also, some of the tee boxes were ground up pretty bad too. The good thing is that the fairways were good enough to launch your shots comfortably with irons or metal woods. The pin placements were evil on several greens on the front nine, so don't expect to kill it on the greens putting during your round.
Putting on pea-gravel
Greens are in terrible shape. Used to play here quasi regularly years ago and it was always well kept. Not worth the money, lots of better options out there.
Been a great course
Played today there and course was in good shape except the greens. Looks like the freeze did a number on them.
Ice/cold ruined greens
We played a week after Houston's cold weather blast and the greens were a disaster. That said, in 2020 they were in great shape so hopefully they will rebound.
Save your money.
The only thing about Clear Creek that resembles a golf course are the people driving carts with clubs on them.
Greens are Trashed
Pace of play here is always an issue. It’s never less than 5 hours on the weekends. However, now the greens are basically unplayable. I won’t be back until I hear things have improved a lot.
Good shape for winter
Good golf course. Good layout. A little Poa in the greens but still putted nicely.Pace of play was a little slow but it was SB Sunday and they were running behind a bit.
Get new staff
Showed up at 6:40am for a 7am tee time. The pro shop isn’t open and the carts are all locked up. The Marshall, doesn’t know where “Zach” is but refuses to call him. Just smokes his cigarette. Finally, at 7:05 he calls Zach. Can’t get him. Someone else is coming in 20 minutes. It’s 7:30. Haven’t teed off yet but a four pack goes out and walks the course in front of everyone waiting. Finally get to tee box. The tee time ahead of us is now a 5 some. Marshall finally pulls up and asks when our tee time was. I told him 40 minutes ago. Would not recommend unless you like playing behind a 5 pack. Marshall doesn’t do his job. Terrible. I don’t think they ever found Zach. Lol
Golf Pass simply did not work
I made (and paid) a reservation online through “Golf Now” I received email confirmation. When I arrived, a very unfriendly man in the pro shop was “unable” to find my reservation. This despite me showing my confirmatory email AND showing that the money had been taken out my bank account. He refused to let me play until I paid another green-fee. He said I could “ discuss it with the manager when he came in”. Magically after my round the manager was unavailable. Thus I’ve paid twice. So this course is very poor value. I remain hopeful that I will get some of my money back but so far this hasn’t happened.
