Clear Creek Golf Course
About
Clear Creek Golf Course is a flat, wide-open links-style track loaded with water and bunkers. The only sort of elevation changes you'll experience come from the ravines that route through the course and the undulating greens.
The back nine is the more challenging, spiced up by some interesting par 3s and two outstanding par 5s. Clear Creek's 11th hole goes 555 yards and involves an approach over a ravine, and No. 13 is a 584-yard monster that double-doglegs to a skinny green framed by bunkers.

The course has good drainage!
Carts need more care!
No sand on cart or at refill station!
Some people try to help by filling divots!
Great Value
I have played Clear Creek many times before and believe it's probably the best deal going right now on the south side of town. It's always in great shape and the greens are not only spacious but they roll well and at a decent pace. Fairways are rather large and ball releases even with the amount of rain lately. The course drains well after a rain with some very small areas of standing water. The practice/putting green allows for sufficient warm up prior to teeing off and the driving range is adequate as well. $25 on a Saturday is a great price for this course.

The course was in good shape but the greens could be faster. Good pace of play. I would recommend this course.
Ok for money
Clear creek used to answer the phone, "the best conditioned course in Houston." I can see why they stopped. I played there quite a bit circa 2004- 2008 (at least 4 times a month) and this was my first round there in 3-4 yrs; I was sadly disappointed. The one thing that made clear creek standout to me was the impeccable conditions of their greens regardless of what time of year you played. They were always really nice cut, rolled, firm but receptive, and had at least a 10 to 11 stimp. Maybe I just caught the course during a transition period but the greens were really the worst I've ever seen them and I easily have 150-200 rounds on that course. Bumpy, furry, and hard. Very inconsistent speed from green to green. Also some looked like they were recently aerated and sandy while others weren't. Not sure what was going on. I also noticed how much the fairways needed water. If you hit a decent drive it would bounce and roll for days. The fairways need water bad. All the traps are in need of new sand, especially in the practice area. The rest of the facilities are starting to show there wear as well. The clubhouse needs a little upgrading and the range is in need of new balls. I used to think it was a great public course and would definitely recommended it over any of the other course in the area, but sadly just like Southwych went dowhill it appears clear creek is in a state of decline as well.
Very slow play
Took 5 hours to play 18 holes. Everything held up by a very slow threesome. No marshals to assist with the pace of play. Waited on every shot. Also, ran out of golf carts. The starter allowed us to use his cart but no GPS in the cart.
Great course for the price
Will definitely play course again
Slow Pace
Fairways and greens were in good shape. Sand Traps were in terrible shape. No sand. Weeds growing in some. Pace of Play was very slow approaching a 5 hour round.
Just beware!
This is a good links course with a lot a average golfers so be mindful of the next fair way when you miss left or right. And it's best to know how long you can hit your favorite clubs out here will keep you out o a lot of trouble.
GPS Excellent
Great condition considing all rain in the days before I played.
Nightmare on Clear Creek
My buddy and myself were in a bit of a time crunch and had seen some of the recent good reviews of this course, but the following might make you think twice before heading to Clear Creek.
1) If you need a course that has some forgiveness for balls not hit on the fairway, this is not the course for you. Ok, I am not a scratch golfer, but I do hit in the Mid 80s-Low 90s and anything off of the fairway is a lost cause.
2) Today was a FRIDAY and there wasn't a single marshall to be found along with a refreshment cart. The pace of play was at a snails pace (a marshall would have been helpful since it took us ~5 HOURS just to get through 16 holes!) and we were paired up with a husband and wife who spent most of the round searching and collecting any spare golf balls they could spot, after having our original pair cancel only for Clear Creek to allow them to join when their tee time was 20 minutes after us.
3) BRING WATER. There are maybe 4 water coolers throughout the round.
Bottom line...
Stay away. Never returning. E-V-E-R.
Really Great for the price.
I liked this course a lot...especially for the price...it has a nice little layout with pretty long par 5's (from the backs)...quality course with decent greens and very peaceful atmosphere
Good Course
I like this Golf Course and plan to again
need more attention and improvements
management should trained the customer service and cashier how to greet and smile...Hello how may i help you... they.re lack of customers appreciative. they must be patient and kind to the golfers.
Great
Enjoyed the day playing golf at this facility. Pace was a little slow but was playing with friends so it wasn't a problem for us.
Great course to play.
I enjoy playing this course. The greens are normally consistent.
The greens at this time are shaping up.
Great course!
A day of great golf!
Other than having to wait on some holes, it was great. Cart with a GPS is a definite plus. Must be a lot of regular players because most divots had sand in them! Will play here again soon.
challenge
back nine very challenging love it
Course is fair for any handicap player
Course is in good shape for this time of year. Staff is friendly & professional.
Nice course
Great place to enjoy a round of golf! Carts have gps and are easy to use ...
