Clear Creek Golf Course

I have frequented Clear Creek GC many times over the last 30 years. I looked forward to this round with out of town guests. I was embarresed! The conditions were terrible! While bunkers were down to pea gravel as they are being reworked, of which is a good thing, the fairways and greens were bad!!

My frustration comes from the staff at check in not informing of these conditions. At the turn, I visited the club house to ask where on their website it informs of the course conditions. Response was no where. They offered rain checks. We took them. We then visited a course nearby that was in very good condition for the same price.

Bottom Line: “Boooo” to the staff for not declaring status of the course up front! …and “boooo” to course management for letting the course get that bad!

I live about 1 mile from the course, I have played it when it was in amazing condition, I have played it in its worst condition…. But when I played it a few days ago… OMG, the greens are very not good most of them look like a blind person made a quilt… they are very patchy, missing grass, half the greens have more sand then their bunkers.

I do not understand why they still charge full price when they know their course is in not so good condition. I love the course when it is playable, but they need to have signs or something telling people how bad the greens are…

Oh and the bunkers are 100% unplayable rock hard and filled with rocks and pebbles.

Greens were not in very good shape. Patches of sod had been laid so it was very rough. Also 2 holes had temporary greens that were just a mowed part of the fairway.

Bad conditions as we played yesterday . 3 temporary greens on the " Fairway" , and the fairways is also in bad conditions. Other greens are also not great as they are patched up .

Nothing on their website mentioning about the currently conditions and they charge $75 . Play somewhere else !!!

$75 isn't a huge amount but when the course conditions aren't at a $75 level is bad. Courses should have to provide information when greens, fairways and bunkers are not in good condition. GolfNow should provide this information to paying customers.

Over the years my sons and I have played at Clear Creek fairly often. It has been a good test of golf, with reasonable greens fees, and generally available to play on weekends. However, I was disappointed yesterday. While the fees I paid ($72 each) were reasonable for a weekend in the area, the value received was poor.

The greens, for the most part, are in terrible condition, with brown/bare patches on most holes, and weeds on some, which I expect perhaps in early spring but not in August. The rough has always been too high in my opinion, but now with the overlay of thick layers of dead brown clippings, balls that are hit just a few feet into the rough are many times lost, when they should certainly be able to be found and played. Our round took almost 5 hours also, made more brutal due to the heat of the afternoon. We had a wait at each tee box, which actually seemed to get longer as the round progressed.

The big positive, as is the normal case, is that the staff were helpful, pleasant, and efficient.

They had not been cut in a long time. Very patchy and for the price of the round not worth it.

Greens are horrible. Covered in crab grass so it’s impossible to hit a putt. Tee boxes are hard as a rock. Much better courses in the area for the same price.

Whole places needs a mowing and some TLC.

Won’t be playing here again.

The greens on just about every hole are basically under repair. I know they had a storm recently but I've played several courses since that are in great shape. The rough is also so high that you can't find your ball half the time. And this is within a few yards of the fairway.

The layout is great they just need a new groundskeeper or something. Won't be back any time soon

Not good at all rough has all the mowed grass on top, greens have weeds on them and replacement sod everywhere, and you had to tee it up on the green and use a driver to get it 15’ to the cup.

Fun layout, but course is in pretty rough shape. I realize we’ve gotten a lot of rain, but multiple greens were dead, dead spots in the fairways, tee boxes were uneven and had holes (not divots or marks from aeration). Staff was super friendly and pace of play was good for public course on a Saturday. Definitely wouldn’t pay 75 bucks to play this course again, and I would only come back if course conditions were improved drastically.
