About
Pearland Golf Club opened in 1982 after Jay Riviere was brought in to build the course as the centerpiece of a residential development for senior citizens. Mike Hoelzer rolled through in the late 1990s for a redesign on this fairly basic 18-hole golf course. The short design features generous fairways and prominent bunkering around the undulating greens. Lakes and ponds have been added over the years and impact play on most holes. Trees have also been added over the years to spice up the flat, prairie-like course.
No. 9 is one of the toughest holes, a 440-yard par 4 that doglegs and has water. No. 16 is considered Pearland's signature -- a 554-yard par 5 that also doglegs and has water in play.

No Marshall taking care of course play
Quit. Players in front of us were almost 3 holes behind
GOOD VALUE FOR THE MONEY
I've played this course many times, it's challenging, however the t-boxes need to be watered, most of them were like concrete. Other than that it was a good round.

Trying
I remember when I would not have recommended this course. But under the new management, they are trying very hard to bring an excellent golf course back to Pearland. The greens are excellent, and roll true, their fairways are getting much better, but the people are outstanding. I love this course.

Course in very good condition
From tee to green the course is in very good condition. The only complaint was slow play, but I just think we got behind a slow group. This is a very nice course.

Great greens and fairways, but the carts….That’s a while other thing.
On the second hole, it’s battery light was flashing on my cart, so I called for another. A guy came up w another cart, so I drove it to my second shot on the second hole, and the new cart I just received….it truly died too. No power, nothing. So I called again to replace it. And had to finish the second and third hole carrying my own cart bag just to keep up. Finally the third time was the charm. Was finally able to finish with no more issues. Greens are fast, some bunkers are thin, some are very heavy in sand. Needs more consistency in the bunkers IMO. Overall, 8 of 10

Technical course with great greens
This course is one of my favorite in the area especially for the value. The course itself has 5 tee boxes and challenges even the best golfers I play with due to turns and tight fairways. They have done great work also predicting where most average golfers will hit drives so even though fairways are tight finding your ball is relatively easy. I can’t say enough about the greens either. Rolling great currently (played April 10 & 13) and medium difficultly to read. The carts at the course are equipped with GPS which is spot on for yardage and approaching the green, just beware not to drive on par 3’s or close to the tee boxes as the “return to cart path” or “restricted area” notifications make the cart only work in reverse which can be time consuming. Understandable by all means but just something to be aware of.

Drained well
Rained earlier that night and morning. Clouds cleared up and sun came out blazing. The course drained really well and didn’t feel too wet at all. Some greens fast. Others were slow. Overall suggest this course and was in good shape overall.

Very good layout and excellent conditions for February in Texas.
Would recommend this course to low to mid handicap golfers as well as being playable from forward tees go higher handicape golfers.

Bad golf
We didn’t hit the ball well, not the courses fault. I would say the restroom locations were scarce, but good course overall.happy to be alive
