About
Pearland Golf Club opened in 1982 after Jay Riviere was brought in to build the course as the centerpiece of a residential development for senior citizens. Mike Hoelzer rolled through in the late 1990s for a redesign on this fairly basic 18-hole golf course. The short design features generous fairways and prominent bunkering around the undulating greens. Lakes and ponds have been added over the years and impact play on most holes. Trees have also been added over the years to spice up the flat, prairie-like course.
No. 9 is one of the toughest holes, a 440-yard par 4 that doglegs and has water. No. 16 is considered Pearland's signature -- a 554-yard par 5 that also doglegs and has water in play.

Poor drainage
Standing water again on course everytime it rains the course floods.

Hard to take
Pace of play was bad for a week day. It took over 4 hours to play because of 3 groups in front of us. With nobody else on the course.

Nice course
Very challenging plenty of water and bunkers .I played with a couple of residents of the course and got good advice played pretty well for 1st time .I will definitely be back .the greens were in really good shape fairways in great shape. A couple of the bunkers needed some attention but overall a well kept course

First time at pearland

Golf Day in Pearland
The course is in nice condition and I had a good time, losing just one ball to the woods on a faded drive. The poor fellas I played with had a long day out there however.
The greens were aerated not to long ago, so they were a bit bumpy. This course allows you to park under the cover of mature trees between holes which I like.
My trusty i25 PING irons and Anser putter from 1996 still help me hit green and putt well.

Mediocre Course
Short but interesting course. The group in front of us was so slow and new golfers were hitting multiple shots on fairway. The held up everybody and there was no marshal on the course. So I called the clubhouse and they sent in somebody who didn’t do much either. Fortunately, the foursomes stopped playing at back nine and the pace finally picked up. I’m not going back.

Sloooooooow
Should of realized on the first tee it was going to be slow. We played the front nine in 2 hours and 30 minutes and it just got worse. We had actually had a group on the green, another group in the fairway, and 2 groups on the tee box on 10. The actual line up was 2 foursomes, and 3 twosomes. The foursomes were painfully slow and actually was causing the backup. The Marshall came out a couple of times and it actually got worse. He was no help at all, in fact we never saw him again after the 8th hole. We figured all this out and skipped 3 holes and left them all. The staff should monitor and actuallyy do something about slow play. We had a 5 hour round and skipped 3 holes.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Course was in pretty good shape. Greens were rolling pretty true and in good shape. Course layout was interesting but allowed for a variety of shots. Overall would recommend and play again

Hello Mr. Wallace:
Sorry your experience was not what you had hoped. You played on a Sunday morning and we had 2" of rain Saturday night. Many courses are the drainage for the surrounding neighborhoods and we are no exception to this. To say we flood every time it rains is a little harsh and overstated. We are relatively flat, but usually drain within 24-48 hours. I hope you'll give us another chance when the weather is great. The course is in terrific condition and the greens are the best in the area. Thanks. R. Rogers, GM
