Pearland Golf Club
About
Pearland Golf Club opened in 1982 after Jay Riviere was brought in to build the course as the centerpiece of a residential development for senior citizens. Mike Hoelzer rolled through in the late 1990s for a redesign on this fairly basic 18-hole golf course. The short design features generous fairways and prominent bunkering around the undulating greens. Lakes and ponds have been added over the years and impact play on most holes. Trees have also been added over the years to spice up the flat, prairie-like course.
No. 9 is one of the toughest holes, a 440-yard par 4 that doglegs and has water. No. 16 is considered Pearland's signature -- a 554-yard par 5 that also doglegs and has water in play.

Greens almost unplayable
I think it was #14 where the green was literally more patch than an actual green. Pace was 2&3/4 hours for the first 9.
Retire the geriatric marshal
Please retire the silly old man, or put him in the back where he doesn’t have to talk to people
This is my opinion.
All players are too slow and even we can't pass them.green conditions are bad.
Greens are getting better
Don’t play here if it’s rained recently the drainage was bad. Puddles throughout the fairway. The greens are coming back there is still some damage but playable.
Great course, even better value!
Great course layout! Greens were smooth as well. The golf carts here are unmatched compared to everywhere else. Active gps and scorecard on a screen in cart, plus Bluetooth for music, and a weather app. Fantastic feature! Only downfall is this course is always wet!! 3x played here, course seems to retain lots of water so it’s majority cart path only.
Worst experience
Went out and even purchased weather insurance due to the summer rain. Played 3 holes until thunder and rain caused us to stop on course. Golf club refusing to refund, will not be using GolfNow
The greens... going, going, gone!
They need to do something about the greens. A month ago they were fine, but now they are near unplayable.
Sand is not a good substitute for grass or a good cover for whatever is attacking the greens.
Wet & soggy
Hard to fathom why outstanding drainage issues are not addressed. Small to moderate size puddles speckle the layout. Low areas require fill-dirt, fairways would benefit from mounds or moguls to encourage better drainage and more drains are necessary to improve conditions. Several greens have problem areas covered with sand attempting to remediate and stop the spread of infections. Decent layout, more than a few challenging holes, but maintainance issues need to be addressed. Much better venue after rain water evaporates and greens heal.
This course is average
The rough felt like Oakmont and the hotdogs were overpriced. Course layout was cool and overall it was a challenging course but just an average experience.
Course needs work
I recommend the course with a warning: the greens are recovering from recent airing and at least a third of them are in serious need of turf repair.
