Pearland Golf Club
About
Pearland Golf Club opened in 1982 after Jay Riviere was brought in to build the course as the centerpiece of a residential development for senior citizens. Mike Hoelzer rolled through in the late 1990s for a redesign on this fairly basic 18-hole golf course. The short design features generous fairways and prominent bunkering around the undulating greens. Lakes and ponds have been added over the years and impact play on most holes. Trees have also been added over the years to spice up the flat, prairie-like course.
No. 9 is one of the toughest holes, a 440-yard par 4 that doglegs and has water. No. 16 is considered Pearland's signature -- a 554-yard par 5 that also doglegs and has water in play.

Greens in bad shape
This isn't the first time that I played here, this golf course used to be in very good condition but now a lot of greens are in very bad condition, not practice putting green and range tee closed only mats, I arrived one hr before the tee time to warm up and practice the putting because makes a lot of difference when you practice your putt before play and you have an idea how the greens are along the course I think in my very personal opinion that should be a some kind of notice of these things when you are booking a tee time to decide if you play there or not and not get there one hr before you can tee off. My overall rating is three stars .
Rudeness
Me and my buddy played a round and had a tied score so we decided to play the 1st hole over to break the tie and the club house decided to disable the cart and mind you the tee box was empty instead of finding out what we were doing....Some of the greens was under repair that's understandable but the course was not bad and challenging.
Good course in bad condition
It’s a decent course but it’s in really rough shape. Greens have huge dead spots and patches. Fairways are pretty rough. It looks like they are working on it but I won’t play again until it’s better.
Worse greens ever
Although the course was busy?? I couldn’t understand why?? Greens were terrible. This course is a joke, over priced, green fees, drinks, and range balls. Never going back there this year.
The course needs repair.
Greens were bare in many areas. Fairways were uneven and bare dirt in many places. Even at a GolfNow low rate - it was not worth the fees.
Not longer in playable condition
T-boxes and fairways are in moderate condition. 50 % of Greens are in moderate conditions, ca 3 were closed and replaced by temporary ones and another 4-5 are either patch with gras tiles or having deteorated ground (pure soil areas or soils with ground chips). Before next time the greens need a lot of rework.
Nice track but greens need work.
I liked the layout of this suburban course. Not too tough and some interesting doglegs. Fairways were in good condition but greens and bunkers were pretty rough. This detracted from an otherwise fun golf outing.
Terrible greens
Without a doubt, the worst greens in Houston don’t waste your money or the drive
greens are in very poor condition
i have played here several times, it is usually in pretty good shape. the last time played all 18 greens and the practice green were gone. I would give the course a couple of months and then call before playing again.
Beautiful Day
Other than the 6’em that was holding us up 2 groups ahead and the group in front of us waiting for the 6’em to get on the green every hole to tee off and the residents money game behind us driving into us several times the club is a great value. Staff is very friendly. Some greens look like they had a rough winter looks like but they are growing again. We’ll be back.
Greens are not good at all
Played in a tournament recently (2/6/25) and the course conditions were fair, but the greens were poor at best. I know the staff is trying but this course needs to be shut down for 4-6 weeks to let the grass grow on the greens because there is none now. I am really sorry to have to report this but it's the truth. Thank goodness the staff did not overcharge us for our round. The cart girl also needs to learn some golf etiquette.
