Pearland Golf Club
About
Pearland Golf Club opened in 1982 after Jay Riviere was brought in to build the course as the centerpiece of a residential development for senior citizens. Mike Hoelzer rolled through in the late 1990s for a redesign on this fairly basic 18-hole golf course. The short design features generous fairways and prominent bunkering around the undulating greens. Lakes and ponds have been added over the years and impact play on most holes. Trees have also been added over the years to spice up the flat, prairie-like course.
No. 9 is one of the toughest holes, a 440-yard par 4 that doglegs and has water. No. 16 is considered Pearland's signature -- a 554-yard par 5 that also doglegs and has water in play.

COUNTRY PLACE '' MUST PLAY'' !
played 12/3/2014 . greens are better than the spring time .
greens are fast !
fairways are fair & running
bunkers need work
great bang for the buck !
This course is a pile driver. LOL
You can not go a full sped with the cart as there are bumps and tree stumps. There is water where you can't see it and it is poorly marked. The greens are concrete and the weeds are plentiful. I tis my guess that Texas courses are more like cow pastures with out the manure.
.
This course is in terrible shape.
Worse shape of any golf course I have ever played in my golf life. They should pay me to play there. I wanted a refund.
A few greens need attention.
Played the course on Sunday (11-24-13). The layout is fairly challenging as it is pretty tight and there are a few hazards that couldn't be seen from the tee box. Must mention however that a few greens are in bad shape and one green is in horrible shape - the greens that were in good shape rolled great and were pretty fast. Got a great price on Golfnow so wasn't too disappointed but would be hard to take if paying top price.
Very well maintained
We like this course, we enjoy to see how well maintained it is. Nice experience
Good course.
I enjoyed the course. Interesting layout winding through a subdivision. The staff was very friendly.
challenging
fairways have to be flattened, the fairways are rougher traveling in a cart than most of the rough.
greens are small and fast
cool layout but fairways and greens need to be enhanced
quite tight off the tee, many 3 woods
par threes are long
5 par 5's is great in my opinion
Needs a lot of maintenance. Avoid at all costs.
Would give it zero stars but that's not an option. Very poor course that needs a lot of attention. Paid about 13 bucks thru Golfnow deal and think it was 13 too much. Southwyck, even with current upgrades, and Clear Creek nearby are much better courses for about the same price or a few bucks more.
Good greens and open fairways
This course is maintained well. We went after a storm so the greens were wet but even so they played fast and true. The sand traps were completely soaked and most had standing water in them. The fairways are cut well but they are not very smooth. Lots of pot holes and ruts. The facilities were very clean and the staff was very friendly.
Nice Peaceful Semi-challenging course
Nice Quiet course, with challenging dog legs, and plenty water. Usually play this course atleast once a week, cant beat the price and never a wait. Front 9 is kinda has couple bends and twist and back 9 is bit more challenging with more dog legs and water. Fun course overall
challenging, with many obstacles.
new management coming and has improved greatly. There is a lot of water but mostly on the sides.
Challenging course, new management, needs minor work
This was a challenging course. It appears that it is under new management and measures are being taken to improve the course. The fairways are narrow with some difficult dog legs. The back 9 seemed to be a bit wider. the course has lots of hidden hazards as you play making the first time very difficult. The greens need some work and have a few bald spots. The fairways and tee boxes were in good condition. The golf carts looked new and were fast and smooth. The pro shop staff were some of the nicest and most helpful I have encountered.
good price, but...
Everything's good!
But fairway need some care...
This course always quite. .
Front 9 was fun. Back 9 is either straight or 90 degree dog legs. Staff was very nice. Greens need help.

Easy to get around. Challenging but relaxing.
Mosquitoes galore. Bring plenty of repellent. Keep it in the fairways and greens you will be alright. If you get in the rough, you will be swarmed.
good course for beginners to practice on.
Fairways are bumpy some areas of the fairway was just has high as the rough. Greens need some work also. Could be a nice course with some work.
This course is definitely worth what you're paying for!
Went for my 2nd time at Country Place with a friend for their Thursday deal - $20/player which includes 18 holes, cart, driving range balls, and a meal/drink. This was an excellent deal - the meal was just a hot dog and a soda, but was a nice break in between front and back 9's. We thought it'd be an ice change from the usual play 18 holes and run - and also for a reasonable price.
As for the course/area itself, it's in pretty great shape. It's a semi-private course, with a gated community, so you know the area is pretty nice. Myself, I just started playing golf about 2 months ago, so definitely not the best player - but the other players and members there were friendly and encouraging. No one there to critique you on your shot or rush you - perfect for even a beginner. The staff just really encourages you to have a good time and enjoy yourself, with no need to rush. Just a great attitude all around and a great environment.
The day we played, there was some landscaping going on, so some fallen tree branches were additional obstacles on some holes. However, outside of that, everything was great. Greens were fast, with only 1 or 2 holes having the occasional spot. Par 3's are long, but reachable. Par 5's have water to go over, but not crazy amounts of it. Another thing is: Keep in mind that you're driving through the neighborhood to arrive at the holes, so there will be homes on the sides of many holes. But as long as you do not slice it a mile left or right they will not be an issue.
Overall, a great time and for $20 was more than I could ask for. Would definitely recommend the course!
NICE
PLAYED COURSE 2 YEARS AGO AND NEVER WENT BACK DO TO THE CONDITION. nOT PERFECT TODAY BUT LOOKS AND PLAYS MUCH BETTER.
Great Course
My son and I arrived an hour before our tee time, we weren't able to check in due to a computer glitch but was able to get on the range for some warm-up. We finally were able to check in and begin our round almost 45 minutes past our tee time. Great lunch area with a very nice lady who was doing everything she could to help us, no water on hand only cokes and beer. Once we began, it was immediately apparent that the course had been well taken care of even after some pretty heavy rain that morning and the day before. Greens were soft but ran pretty quick. A couple of greens had bare areas which made putting very challenging, if not impossible unless you stuck it 3" from the hole. Overall I loved this course and the staff for the most part were friendly and helpful. I cannot wait to play this course again.
