Good Value
Key selling point is better value than other London based clubs. Conditions are similar to Richmond. Fairways have bare patches. Greens run little slow but well presented. Toptracer Range an additional bonus.
Golf good but don’t eat there!
Food and drink very poor. Had food poisoning twice there. Expensive and no option for 9 holes rather than 18. Nice course with very good greens
Unexpectedly good
Had played the old layout and was not expecting to enjoy my round as much as I did.
Whilst a lot of short par 4’s they were all well designed and different.
Will definitely be heading back soon.
Testing
Really good course where you had to be careful and direct with each shot as very tight in places and much thick rough to navigate. Not for big hitters as very short but great for the short game. Greens in perfect condition, staff and facilities very welcoming and would certainly come back again when in the area ( reside Somerset)
Links near Heathrow!
Very impressive, short but challenging course. WOuld be good to play it a few times to help you navigate around. Greens are fair, rough is tough! Forces you to be good from under 150 yards or you you end up in a lot of trouble.
Really enjoyed it. Could tidy up the fairways a bit but generally very good.
Love the fact they have marshalls stopping the timewasters and keeping the pace of play up.
Slow, stick behind lots of beginners
Airlinks is a fun course. Short, forgiving, but great to play some links golf around London.
You have to play early, otherwise you end up stuck behind groups who play incredibly slowly. There’s nothing wrong with being a beginner or not being very good, but the course needs to do more to encourage better pace of play and allowing faster groups to play through. We spent 5-10 minutes waiting on every tee box in our 4.5 hour round (for a two-ball). I’ve had sub-3 hour four balls at Airlinks.
It’s in pretty rough state.
Can’t get tees in the ground on any of the tee boxes as it’s built on concrete.
Not much grass on the fairways and there’s stones under club on most lies you find.
Greens are in dire shape as well. Dried out patches all over them with lots of massive areas of greens completely fried.
Stones random debris and some significant damage out there make putting here unenjoyable.
Temporary greens at moment on some holes.
Which at least shows they are trying to protect the weakest greens.
This being said there was no mention of this in the pro shop before our round or when we booked.
There are actually some really testing holes here and you have to be precise to keep the ball in play.
If it wasn’t built on top of some of the worst soil in London it would have massive potential to be a great course.
I’m pretty sure it’s only been open a year or so and it’s already in need of some serious TLC.
Very expensive for what it is.
Avoid unless you have no other choice.
Bargain
For a public course airlinks is often v quiet
No real issue gettting tee times whenever you want and not busy when on the course
Decent greens, links type course - fairly nice for beginners
Great Driving range on site
ISLWORTHIAN'S GS
What a day, coarse was in great condition, we we're so well looked after by the staff, as for the club hse food 10 out of 10
We'll be back
Thanks for a great day
Expect a long round
The first couple of times I played Air Links I had nothing but good things to say. Then my most recent visit (because of the 6 minute tee time bookings) that we were waiting on holes for up to half an hour to tee off.
There also seems to be no course etiquette as every green has hundreds of pitch marks. I know this is a player issue but for a new course it already needs a lot of TLC.
As I say, I’ve played here 5 times but the last visit I made, will be my last.
