If Wetherspoons made a golf course...
his is a newly established course that has so far been well-maintained. The greens are satisfactory—while they don't match up to top-tier courses, they serve their purpose. However, the course does have some notable drawbacks.
First, the pace of play is consistently slow. I've had the opportunity to play here multiple times, and slow play seems to be a recurring issue. This may be exacerbated by the course's natural conditions; it's built in a naturally windy area, which can make gameplay more challenging.(Think links style wind, hence the name "Airlinks")
Second, about half of the holes feature blind shots—hitting over hills or around bends without a clear line of sight. This not only complicates the game but also likely contributes to the slow pace, as players often find themselves searching for their balls.
In terms of the course's overall appeal, it lacks that "wow" factor. Unlike some courses that entice you to return, this one falls short of creating that yearning.
At a price range of £30-35, I wouldn't say it's good value for money. However, if you can snag a deal for around £20 or perhaps £25, it might be worth a visit twice. Once to learn the layout, second time to go at it.
Short but fun
A really interesting links style course. Short but lots of fun holes, decent condition considering how new the course is. At the price it’s really good. Nice clubhouse and good amenities.
Fun to play even though it’s very short
Was a fun round, played 18 holes in 2 & 1/2 hours and it was great fun. Good Range facilities and friendly stuff. I can only recommend it.
A Real Links Experience in London
What a little gem this new course is. It’s not long but it offers a real links experience with some tricky to hit fairways, challenging blind shots and clever doglegs. The greens are not quite up to speed but considering the course only opened in May they’re in very good shape. The welcome was excellent and the clubhouse was a really nice place to be on a summer’s afternoon. Great value and well worth a visit.
