One of the first courses in the growing 1970s Plano community, Pecan Hollow started out as the Plano Municipal Golf Course. Don January and Billy Martindale, who had recently completed their signature Royal Oaks in Dallas, contracted with the city to help provide golf for Plano’s growing population.
The terrain here is flat, and the fairways are mostly wide open. January used the standard bunkers, water hazards, and trees in his design to cause problems for the golfer. The greens are of medium size and speed, and the course is basically pretty standard until you reach the punishing final stretch of holes. Nos. 16-18 are all 445-yard-plus par 4s with water in play–one of the toughest tests of golf in the DFW area.
Getting there : From I-75 north, take Plano Parkway east, then exit at 14th St. Turn right, drive a short distance to the course, and look for the entrance on the left side of the street.

Tee time was rushed.
Tee time was set for 5:12. We were called at 4:50 - 20 minutes early. Did not give us enough warm up time.
Great course. Some of the best greens in the area. One of my favorite places to play
Hidden gem
Course conditions were fantastic. Great deal, amazing course only downside is the GPS carts shutting down if you go into what it deems restricted area (out of bounds for the most part), kart legit shuts down for 15-20 seconds, then will start chirping at you to get back to cart path with a 20 second countdown.
Excellent Course
Teed off at 0630. Walked and finished in 2.5 hours. Course was in perfect shape. Fairways and greens were cared for like courses that you would pay 4 times the green fee. Will be back. A must play in the DFW area.
Great condition
Greens and fairways are in excellent condition. Cart girl was around three times. Not crowded, fast paced . It’s summer, so it was 100 degrees But that was the only downside
15 min rain shower couldn't diminish enjoyment for the round
Nice track. Plenty of available shade when needed to get out of the hot TX sun. Just the right amount of difficulty for an interesting round.
