About
One of the first courses in the growing 1970s Plano community, Pecan Hollow started out as the Plano Municipal Golf Course. Don January and Billy Martindale, who had recently completed their signature Royal Oaks in Dallas, contracted with the city to help provide golf for Plano’s growing population.
The terrain here is flat, and the fairways are mostly wide open. January used the standard bunkers, water hazards, and trees in his design to cause problems for the golfer. The greens are of medium size and speed, and the course is basically pretty standard until you reach the punishing final stretch of holes. Nos. 16-18 are all 445-yard-plus par 4s with water in play–one of the toughest tests of golf in the DFW area.
Getting there : From I-75 north, take Plano Parkway east, then exit at 14th St. Turn right, drive a short distance to the course, and look for the entrance on the left side of the street.

PICK UP THE PACE, PLEASE!
The Marshalls need to do their job; PLEASE. Took over 5 hours to finish the round today. The wait on every hole was ridiculous. Really gets you out of your rhythm. Would like to say more about the course, amenities, etc., but can't get past how bad they allowed the pace of play to drag today. I can live with 4& 1/2 hours, and that's a STRETCH! But over 5 hours! UGH! Come on Marshalls!
great course beautiful area
this Audubon registered course has beautiful surroundings and a lot of really nice fairways and greens. It just rained for three days and the course isn’t soaked and muddy but rather well cared for. grat course go play.
Nice Course
Pace was perfect, not always the case. Tee boxes, fairways, and green were great condition.
My favorite course! Best greens DFW
You guys have best greens in within 50 miles of Rowlett. However, this last trip we were never able to adjust to extremely fast greens. Still have best around, but if they were a little slower our scores would be a little lower and we would have been lot happier. Still best course around. Would play Pecan Hollow little more often if y’all Go back to $26 afternoon rates rather than $37.
Greens are about the best for public courses in the area.
Pretty good
Greens were in great shape. This course could be a real gem, but there was all kinds of torn up grass in the fairways, and the trees on many holes need to be trimmed up to allow the grass to grow in the rough and also make the place just look better overall.
