Pecan Hollow Golf Course

About
One of the first courses in the growing 1970s Plano community, Pecan Hollow started out as the Plano Municipal Golf Course. Don January and Billy Martindale, who had recently completed their signature Royal Oaks in Dallas, contracted with the city to help provide golf for Plano’s growing population.
The terrain here is flat, and the fairways are mostly wide open. January used the standard bunkers, water hazards, and trees in his design to cause problems for the golfer. The greens are of medium size and speed, and the course is basically pretty standard until you reach the punishing final stretch of holes. Nos. 16-18 are all 445-yard-plus par 4s with water in play–one of the toughest tests of golf in the DFW area.
Getting there : From I-75 north, take Plano Parkway east, then exit at 14th St. Turn right, drive a short distance to the course, and look for the entrance on the left side of the street.

Plano Peace
Pecan Hollow is a fantastic place to chill on their practice grounds, grill, or course. Plano does a nice job of resources to keep this place is top shape. Their greens rival just about any muni in TX. Fairways are a bit thin and dry since we haven’t seen rain in years…Weekend play is slower than we would like (5 hours) and quite of few hacks with no golf etiquette. Unfortunately, this is the norm unless you’re playing at a private club.
Nice course
The course was in good shape. Staff was super friendly. Carts have gps which I love. Course was very fun to play. Not extremely challenging but still managed to mess up some holes. Great value for the money. Very busy. 5+ hour round. Would play again.
The best in North Dallas
One of the best golf courses in the North Dallas area. Pristine Fairways and Tour level Greens, as an amateur I felt like playing on one of the Tour level courses. Besides the course conditions one other amazing thing about this course is that it has stunning scenic views.
One of the best public courses in the area. My favorite place
Pecan Hollow is ++
Greens don’t disappoint. Vibes are high. Great spot for the boys.
Great Round
One of my go to courses in Dallas. Absolutely can't go wrong playing here.
Great day
Great course. Staff all very friendly
Really enjoy playing here.
Would love to see expanded food offerings
Keep up the great work
Great value, fun easy layout
I love playing this course but it is always busy and hard to get a tee time. We lucked into one I can only assume was a cancelation. We had fun, shot pretty well. The course is a great value and the conditions are really good for the price. Compared to other courses in the area the conditions are better for the cost. Easy fun get able course.
Perfect Greens
The course has been in great shape the last 4-5 times I have played. The greens are the best in the area. Love putting on them.
Great course
Course is always in great shape. Practice facility is nice as well. Played in just over 4 hours on a Friday afternoon.
Great Course
Course is in great shape. Pace of play was good. Staff was welcoming. Overall great value.
Greens Rolling Great
PH has been impressive with course conditions but with recent aeration and verticut, greens are rolling pretty fast and true. Holding good shots as well
