One of the first courses in the growing 1970s Plano community, Pecan Hollow started out as the Plano Municipal Golf Course. Don January and Billy Martindale, who had recently completed their signature Royal Oaks in Dallas, contracted with the city to help provide golf for Plano’s growing population.
The terrain here is flat, and the fairways are mostly wide open. January used the standard bunkers, water hazards, and trees in his design to cause problems for the golfer. The greens are of medium size and speed, and the course is basically pretty standard until you reach the punishing final stretch of holes. Nos. 16-18 are all 445-yard-plus par 4s with water in play–one of the toughest tests of golf in the DFW area.
Getting there : From I-75 north, take Plano Parkway east, then exit at 14th St. Turn right, drive a short distance to the course, and look for the entrance on the left side of the street.

Great value, fun easy layout
I love playing this course but it is always busy and hard to get a tee time. We lucked into one I can only assume was a cancelation. We had fun, shot pretty well. The course is a great value and the conditions are really good for the price. Compared to other courses in the area the conditions are better for the cost. Easy fun get able course.
Perfect Greens
The course has been in great shape the last 4-5 times I have played. The greens are the best in the area. Love putting on them.

Greens Rolling Great
PH has been impressive with course conditions but with recent aeration and verticut, greens are rolling pretty fast and true. Holding good shots as well
Excellent Value, Great Course
This course is beautiful and always in great condition. It has a fun, yet challenging, layout and makes you think your way around the course. In my opinion, this is one of the best courses in DFW for the price. Love playing here - just wish I lived closer.
Thoroughly enjoyable!
This course was in really good condition. Fairways were nice. The greens were fast. I liked the layout. There were a couple of par 4's that were drivable if aggressive.
Overall for the price this was an excellent course that I'd highly recommend .

Course is a really good course
Brought 3 foursomes out there for close to $800 and left my bushnell $500 range finder on the golf cart. Called their 30 minutes later and no one had them…..character, ethics and integrity lacking!
One of my favorites!
I’ve played this course 3 times now and the course plays better every time I go back! It’s be adding to a monthly rotation for my friends and I. It’s a shorter course and pace of play was solid the entire morning Sunday.
