Still excellent
Played Astbury a few times and despite it's recent problems it remains a joy to play. Fortunate that the course was quiet and got round quickly. They are catching up with some ground work but nothing that impedes on enjoying the course. Will definitely be returning and hopefully they will get the increased custom they deserve.
Astbury Hall
Astbury Hall is a must play for anyone regardless of ability
Even though it was the last weekend in October the course was in fantastic condition the fairways defined and the greens were immaculate
The course is playable regardless of handicap level and definitely worth the journey to play it
For under £20 on a Sunday afternoon you will struggle to find better so treat yourself before winter sets in you won’t be disappointed
a gorgeous course in wonderful countryside
We had intended to play this course earlier in the year and thought we'd left it too late weatherwise - not so - it was a gorgeous dry day , a little windy but with sunshine.
The course is immaculate and though a little immature will be even better year on year.
We thought it confusing to find as I knew it as The Astbury and followed our satnav to the post code eventually entering through the back gates! Had we followed the sign to Astbury Hall it would have been much easier.
Not only was the course in great condition and attractive but the views were lovely too - a really great visit.
Another lovely day at The Astbury
Played at 3pm on Sunday 15th.
Again can not fault this course. Always in excellent condition and a joy to play. If you get the chance play this course! A real gem and a credit to the owners and staff.
Astbury
A very bland course, which all looked very similar, obviously it is very new and will mature but at the moment it still has the feel of converted land.
Wouldn't play again
Getting better as course matures
Really quiet when I visited which is a shame as it remains a great course in well maintained condition. Greens true, fairways just slightly widened for winter play and most of the heath grass mown so didn't lose a ball!
Finally played here.
Looked at this course many times but never booked it.
Club house was fantastic' lad in pro shop very helpful and course condition was great.
Despite all these good things the three of us said we probably wouldn't play here again' because 4 par 5's and 5 par 3's' just seemed to spoil it....but glad i got to play it.
Fantastic afternoon
We have played The Astbury 5 times now and have always been impressed with everything. Staff, course, course conditions and the views make it one of our favourite courses.
This visit was no differenct, absolutely lovely conditions, fantastically quick and unencumbered round. Very relaxed staff for such a prestigious feeling course. We can not recommend this place highly enough. Thanks to all involved, keep it up!
Stunning course
Wow ,absolutely stunning course and surroundings all in prestine condition, couldn't keep grin off my face, gives you a chance of birdies if you strike ball well, last hole is spectacular, will definitely go back and try again.

A Good Days Golf
Our fourball enjoyed the whole day and would highly recommend a visit. Not an easy course but a fair challenge. A different type of course than you will generally find. Very well maintained, fairway were like walking on a shag pile carpet. Thenks for the chance to play it.
Deceiving course!
From most tee's it looks an easy course, but if you dont hit the fairways, the rough will punish you if you are lucky enough to find your ball! Still a great course to play. If I had to find a bad thing about the place it would be a minimal moan - not enough waste bins on the course so my bag was full if empty water bottles, and a few ball cleaners on the tee's wouldn't go a miss, but it won't put me off going back.

Fantastic Course
Second time playing this course. The greens were in excellent condition, very fast considering recent rain in previous days. Incredibly friendly staff and a very relaxed atmosphere. I would recommend this this course to anybody and everybody.

Well presented course in excellent condition
This is the fourth time I have played the course and as usual the course is in excellent condition and a good test of golf.

The Astbury
Great Game of Golf, fabulous setting and great course conditions
Have played twice at the Astbury over the summer period. Can't believe the value for money for the quality of the course. Every part was immaculate from fairways to greens. Challenge for any standard of player and excellent range of holes. Course will only mature too. Will definitely return.
Superb course
Made to feel really welcome by staff in golf shop and bar, superb course with elevated tees on most holes. All holes have lots of character/shape. Need to hit fairways or Velcro rough awaits. Par 3's and par 5s give you good chance for birdies. My only minor criticism is a couple of driving nets to warm up would help. Can't wait to go back!
Amazing
What can I say, this course was truly amazing, well looked after with beautiful views, loved every second on this course and definitely coming back real soon
Great course! Amazing greens!
A very good course with some really good holes. The star of the show though were the greens they were immaculate. Probably the best greens I've ever played on. I haven't played millions of different places but my playing partner on the day has travelled about a bit and he agreed they were absolutely superb. Very quick and true. The greens on the front 9 still had a bit of feed on them but it didn't really effect the roll. The back 9 though were absolutely fantastic. The course itself is very good, some really nice looking holes set in some fantastic scenery. There's not huge amounts of risk off the tee so you can get away with a wayward drive or two. They've countered this by making the fairways very narrow so it is difficult to find the short stuff. The bunkers are well placed and the sand in them is perfect. Not too much or too little. It's not a hugely long course imo, even off the back tees which we played off. Then again my home course is over 7200 off the back so perhaps it's just what I'm used to. Next time I play I think I'll leave my driver in the bag and just hit 3 wood or hybrid off the tee to make sure I find the fairways more often. We played around half 11 and luckily the course was pretty quiet so we were able to take our time and really enjoy it. It started to get very busy when we'd finished though so I'd definitely recommend playing as early as you can. The staff were very friendly, the beer was great but not ridiculously expensive. There's no driving range or proper warm up area which i would have liked as I'm not one of these players who can just turn up and hit it. There is a good sized putting green though which is just as good as the greens on the course. Overall me and my playing partner had a fantastic day which was undoubtedly helped by the gorgeous weather. It was touching 30 degrees and I forgot my sun cream so ended up with a sunburnt face. We will definitely be back again in a couple of months! If you ever get the chance please play this course you won't be disappointed. Highly recommended!!
The course will be even better with age
This course is well kept and the best in Shropshire. We play a 4/8 ball every Saturday and have played most courses in a 50 mile radius of Shrewsbury with the astbury being our favourite. Can't wait to play again
