Terrible Greens and bunkers

I appreciate that the lack of rain is a big issue for golf courses but the greens and bunkers were in a terrible condition.

The greens were so bumpy and patchy, we gave up in the end.

Some of the sand in the bunkers appeared to be ballast with medium size pebbles in them.

Not impressed.

Avisford Park

Nice local course, but only on a discount rate. Greens and tee boxes desperately need water.

Course is a bit scruffy but quite pretty. Good value at £20 but wouldn’t pay full price for morning rounds in its current condition.

Needs lots of TLC

Yes it was maintaince week so greens had been punched

Yes it’s been dry so fairways were like straw

BUT the course was looking tired and needs attention, some really nice holes especially the back 9.

Great course with lovely tests.

Lovely course and greens in great condition. Facilities for a snack lacking and not publicised that you have to head for the hotel.

Avisford

Good course layout. Front nine hotel type course, shortish holes but lots of chance to score.

Back nine different layout follows a valley, longer par 4s.

Greens were bumping and need some tlc. Bunkers full of sand ,tee boxes were drying.

Overall a good deal for first round of year. Not worth the full green fee in its present condition.

Good course/quite challenging for beginners

First time playing this course, what would be nice is either a map on the score card or a diagram of the hole at each tee, second half of course set in a valley quite challenging but a good change from the front nine.

Will definitely go back.

Unreal course!

The course was unreal, but the greens let them down. A bit bobbly in patches which made it hard to putt. Other than that, I couldn’t fault it!!

Great variety - course management required!!

Delighted this course has been ‘saved’ from the A27 Arundel bypass being shelved. Enjoyable round with a few caveats - the good:- Challenging, decent variety of holes, not held up, sub 3 1/2 hrs. The bad:- bunkers flooded, some rakes broken, greens patchy (though just been hollow tined), broken bridge to the 12th. A bit of investment (which hopefully will happen as the course will stay open) will really benefit this little gem of a club
