The Club at Los Rios
About
The Club at Los Rios opened in the early 1970s with a Don January and Billy Martindale design that takes advantage of eight small ponds and a creek that winds through the layout.
Water is in play on over half of the holes, including the opening 485-yard par 5 that features two ponds in play off the tee, and another fronting the green.
Two very difficult holes stand out on this narrow, shot-maker’s course. No. 7 goes 431 yards but allows for a huge tee shot with a generous fairway, which will definitely help on the dicey approach over the creek into a shallow green. On the par 5 No. 14, water crosses the fairway three times from the back tees.
Getting there : From I-75 north, take Plano Pkwy. east until it dead ends at Los Rios Blvd. Turn left onto Los Rios Blvd. And continue on for 1 mile to Country Club Dr. Turn right and drive a short distance to the course–look for the entrance on the right side of the street.

Wouldn't reccomend
Greens were absolutely terrible.
Cart paths were atrocious.
Residents dogs are just freely running around the course and swimming in the waters.
Stop
Whatever you're thinking, don't do it. I water my plants more than they water their fairways and greens. The bad thing is that all my plants have died. It's like the whole course burned and it's just now growing back. Furthermore, there was so much sand on the greens. It's literally like I went to Gulf Shores and left my shoes on, that's the feeling I have at this moment. In short, just save yourself the time and go do something else, pull your pud; whatever your game, go do it.
Nice course.
Played at the end of July so it got hot early. Slow pace in morning. Will play again.
Straight forward golf course
It is difficult to complain when your round of golf costs $12.00. Not sure I would play the course for the usual price of $33.00+ The carts are in great shape, the grass is properly cared for, the rough is penal and slows play (you can't find your ball unless you walk right up on it)(rough doesn't need to be that high--I suspect it is more a cost saving consideration more than wanting to have high rough). Staff was helpful
Pleasant Surprise
The course is coming along nicely - greens, fairways and first cut were all in really good shape. For the money it was well worth the trip to the old club. We also played in 2h 20m ... now that's a nice pace!
Great
Really well kept course. Greens nice, distinctive fairways, plenty of water coolers through out (critical in Texas). Over all happy with experience. Super cool staff and starter.
No Bunkers!!!
The course has no bunkers....if you just to play golf with out the headaches of sand traps then this is the course for you. Overall, the course was pretty good good....the Bermuda rough was tough to hit out and sometimes hard to find your ball. So, may suggestion is to find the generous fairways the course has to offer. Enjoy!!
Not a bad place
I keep coming back.. Los Rios has so much potential to be a real popular course to play with a few more changes. I see they are making a few changes but not there yet. Still has some tee boxes that could use some work and a few greens. I like playing here because you can get in and out without waiting at each hole. Duke is a great guy who always treat us nicely. We live locally and would like to see more specials come across.
Los Rios GC Plano TX
Greens were in good shape. Construction on a few holes made shot selection interesting.
This course is not worth playing
I have been golfing in Texas for 30 years this is by far the worst golf course I have ever visited. Clubhouse tries to rush you along when you have to wait for people in front of you. I will never return to that course or recommend it to anybody else.
First timer. Decent track despite soggy conditions
First time in Dallas, first time playing this track. Decent value for the $$. The grounds were wet and soggy due to recent rainy days. Not allot of standing water but grassy ground would still be muddy causing lots of fat shots. No sand traps was a pleasant surprise but water hazards seem to pop up everywhere. I'd play this course again on a return trip to Dallas.
Next to Sewage Plant
The whole course smells like a toilet due to it being next to a water treatment plant. Fairways and greens in fair condition. People were nice but would definitely recommend one of the many other courses in the area.
Not Worth the Money-Next to Sewage Plant
This course was not well-kept up with and was clearly in the middle of some sort of construction. There were large pieces of building equipment (backhoes, bulldozers) scattered around the whole course. Worst of all, the course is next to some sort of water treatment plant, so the stench on most holes was almost unbearable. At a price point of over $40 per round, I will not be back at Los Rios.
Too many water features
And too much construction which doesn't seem to b related to improvements. Fairways very hard pan. Price is right with golf now.
Never again
I will never play at this course again,,, golf now states when you book a tee time one cart one person one green fee... no where does it say i have to ride with someone who smokes. That makes me sick not to say it interfered with my golf game....los rios has lost me as a golfer never again
Very disappointed, will not play here again
I have played this course a number of times, but not within the last few years. On this most recent trip, I found the course to be in the worst conditions I have ever seen. Not just for this course, but for any course I have ever played. The fairways were more dirt than grass, with no difference between the rough and the fairways. I could always tell where my tee shot landed from the big plume of dust. I understand that it is winter time, and the grass is dormant. I play regularly, and none of the other courses I play are in as bad a shape is this. I will not play here again.
Course needs help
The course was in terrible shape. Obvious lack of maintenance and not worth the $.
Los Rios
