The Club at Los Rios
About
The Club at Los Rios opened in the early 1970s with a Don January and Billy Martindale design that takes advantage of eight small ponds and a creek that winds through the layout.
Water is in play on over half of the holes, including the opening 485-yard par 5 that features two ponds in play off the tee, and another fronting the green.
Two very difficult holes stand out on this narrow, shot-maker’s course. No. 7 goes 431 yards but allows for a huge tee shot with a generous fairway, which will definitely help on the dicey approach over the creek into a shallow green. On the par 5 No. 14, water crosses the fairway three times from the back tees.
Getting there : From I-75 north, take Plano Pkwy. east until it dead ends at Los Rios Blvd. Turn left onto Los Rios Blvd. And continue on for 1 mile to Country Club Dr. Turn right and drive a short distance to the course–look for the entrance on the right side of the street.

Great value and very good course conditions
Great value and very good course conditions. Played on a Friday and the pace was good also.
Great value
Great value for the price. Course also has a great staff
Good course. Challenging yet not too hard for beginners
Had a great time. Greens were nice. Pro shop personnel was friendly and helpful. I'm looking forward to playing here again when it is dry and the trees green up.
Good course
The course is in fairly good shape for the winter. Some of the holes a pretty tricky to play.
Oldie but goodie !
This course is one of the best low priced courses in NE DFW. I have played this course for years and always when the weather is nice best place to be. New greens will bring this course to new level of playing this Spring.
I enjoy this course about 10 to 15 times a year.
New greens at Los Rios
They obviously planted new greens since the last time I played at the course two years ago. The greens rolled quite well for it being in the winter. I look forward to coming back in the spring. For the money, it was a great value. Oh yeah, there's a new tee box on their island green hole, much better.
Monday golf
Not a difficult course. Good price and they are open on Mondays.
Excellent
Had a great time. good customer service and great course.
Practice course
Many parts of fairways are dry hard or with very low (or no) grass. It's difficult to judge the rolls after a ball hits ground. It's worse once ball rolls a little outside fairway, at those area, instead of dealing with rough, you end of dealing with dirt lies many times. Greens roll fine, but there are too many ball marks. I fixed average two or three of them since those are everywhere. I can understand creating some difficulties with the placements of tree, but it seems like many tree branches have been allowed gore liberally without being trimmed or maintained. This is not necessarily a appropriate course to play at when you compete against your other players with handicaps applied.
This course was just ok
Not a lot of character. Decent pace of play. Greens were in good shape and rolled pretty well this late in the year.
Sorry to see the course sold
I read in the paper that the city of Plano purchased the course and it will be part of their park system. I decided to play and enjoyed my round here. The fairways are wide and mostly open
the greens were very smooth and the ball rolls very true. The pace of play was good and the staff was very friendly. Fortunately the course will still be open for anothet 5 years before it shuts down. I will be back. Good value for the money.
Los Rios spur of the moment
Course was in much better condition than I expected...much improved from the last time I played there.
Ready to go back.
First time to play here....played from the tips...pretty challenging but enjoyable. Now that I know the course layout I'm ready to go back. Played in less than three hours.
Los Rios Friday afternoon
Clubhouse and drive-up appeal looks like need some maintenance. Pro-shop has lots of merchandise and friendly service. Gas golf carts - lots of noise and poor pickup. Fairly wide open course. a little water. Lots of trees guarding entrances to holes. Easy to get behind trees close to fairways. Had to pitch out several times. Greens were in good shape. Watering caused soggy areas around the greens. Damage by mowers in these same areas, too. Overall, I would play again.
Mr Miles
The course was in good shape, the greens were very good. Fairly difficult. The Brisket sandwich was excellent!
Long Day
Played 18 with my son-in-law. He was running late for a 7:30 tee time and the staff was flexible enough to send us out later. Paired up with 2 other gentleman and started out.
Course in very good condition, but a little wet around the greens from overwatering.
Ended up behind a foursome of 2 couples, male and female. A holiday morning is not the time to teach your girlfriend/wife how to play golf. Whole foursome was slow and not a marshal in site to speed up play. Will be last time playing this course, too many other nice ones in the area with Twin Creeks revitalization and Firewheel.
Great value
It was a hot and very humid day in Texas, course is a bit better that the last time I played.
Los Rios
Course is in good shape. Greens are in good condition . Played on a week day with a great hot deal price. Will be back to play in the future.
