The Club at Los Rios

About
The Club at Los Rios opened in the early 1970s with a Don January and Billy Martindale design that takes advantage of eight small ponds and a creek that winds through the layout.
Water is in play on over half of the holes, including the opening 485-yard par 5 that features two ponds in play off the tee, and another fronting the green.
Two very difficult holes stand out on this narrow, shot-maker’s course. No. 7 goes 431 yards but allows for a huge tee shot with a generous fairway, which will definitely help on the dicey approach over the creek into a shallow green. On the par 5 No. 14, water crosses the fairway three times from the back tees.
Getting there : From I-75 north, take Plano Pkwy. east until it dead ends at Los Rios Blvd. Turn left onto Los Rios Blvd. And continue on for 1 mile to Country Club Dr. Turn right and drive a short distance to the course–look for the entrance on the right side of the street.

Los Rios
Can't complain about $12 greens fees. You get what you pay for here. Forgiving course and fun for the price.
Every time I play this course NONE of the ball cleaners have water and there isn't any (or enough if there is) club cleaners.
Would play again for $12 (plus golf now fees booo!) but that's the most I would spend on this course
Overall good practice course
Good layout.
Had a great time, greens were great. The fairways could use some work, but it winter still. We will definitely be back!!!
For the price great value
Fun course to play staff very friendly
Have scooters which adds extra fun
This course is on top of their game
I had a pleasant experience from the moment I checked in to playing the last hole. Courtesy staff, active grounds keepers, beverage truck catering to the course.
Los Rios
This is good course for beginners and those who are working on your game. The holes are fairly straight forward and is pretty wide open. The greens are normally in pretty good shape as well as the tee boxes. You can also rent Golf Boards, which I would highly recommend trying!
Not worth the time or money
purchased 18 holes with cart included for 3 golfers. Upon early arrival I was told that I had to wait for a 4th player to finish hitting balls at the driving range to share the other half of the cart. The course was not busy and plenty of carts available. When I showed my dislike to having a business partner of ours share a cart with someone we did not with to golf with I was told that my purchase only includes 1/2 of a cart. I then had to pay an additional $16 (full cart price) for the second half of my cart. then we were allowed to proceed and play. Very rude and distasteful way of doing business. Course is run down and smells like sewage. Don't waste you time with this one.
Old school course with nice greens
This track has an old school feel to it starting with the club house and Pro Shop. However, that not necessarily a bad thing. This is the type of place where long time locals seem to gather to play golf, shoot the bull and just enjoy each others company. The course is in good shape. The fairways were a bit hard for my liking but not abnormal for a north Texas course. It was playable and fun with several nice callanges to make it an interesting round. The greens were in great shape and ran very true. A pleasant surprise for the price of play.
Solid course for the weekend price
Played an early Saturday morning with two other guys (our fourth cancelled). The staff were very friendly and understood about our fourth canceling with no charge. Course was in great shape fairways and greens. However, around the very bumpy cart paths it was pretty muddy. Greens were firm and fast but receptive. Would/will play again.
Oldie but a Goodie
One of the older courses in the area but still presents enough of a challenge. Really like the 3 par 5's on the back 9. Greens are very receptive and roll pretty quick in comparison to other courses I have played in the area. Will play again in the near future with the Hot Deal.
OK not great.
Okay would not pay full price to play this course. Golf Now Hot Deal for $10.00
The course was OK. The meal was sometrhing else.
good layout for an old country club. there are no sand traps on this course. water comes into play. Went in for a lunch between nines. food prices were high. I ordered chicken quesadillas and chicken was not available so i settled for beef. There was so much grease in the meat, I was getting sick. Could only eat partial meal.
Nice Course
This is a nice course.. good layout. Has a lot of water that comes into play. If your a better than average player , it is somewhat challenging.
Great Value and really nice course
I really like this course. You have to be on your game for low scores. Anything in the rough is really hard to get out of, so, very challenging. Greens and fairways were exceptional, better than some private clubs I have played at with friends. The facilities are older but the beer is cold, and the people are really friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend you try this course if you haven't. The value is amazing.
course in good shape
The course was in good shape. No sand but water in play on many holes. Some of the hazards were protected by a cement wall which I thought was a good idea. Staff was helpful.
Great layout
Course has a great layout that place well. Challenging but not too tough, lots of water. Greens had been punched in the past 2 weeks, so putting was a little rough, but overall course was in good shape. Would definitely play again.
