The Club at Los Rios
About
The Club at Los Rios opened in the early 1970s with a Don January and Billy Martindale design that takes advantage of eight small ponds and a creek that winds through the layout.
Water is in play on over half of the holes, including the opening 485-yard par 5 that features two ponds in play off the tee, and another fronting the green.
Two very difficult holes stand out on this narrow, shot-maker’s course. No. 7 goes 431 yards but allows for a huge tee shot with a generous fairway, which will definitely help on the dicey approach over the creek into a shallow green. On the par 5 No. 14, water crosses the fairway three times from the back tees.
Getting there : From I-75 north, take Plano Pkwy. east until it dead ends at Los Rios Blvd. Turn left onto Los Rios Blvd. And continue on for 1 mile to Country Club Dr. Turn right and drive a short distance to the course–look for the entrance on the right side of the street.

Great Day at Los Rios
My nephew Brian and I have played at Los Rios several times. It is a very challenging golf course. Some holes at our lunch but we had a great time. We will play there again.
must play
New ownership makes a difference. If you played here years ago and said you wouldn't come back it's time to return. The course is in great shape with beautiful greens. The staff is first rate & the food was great. They have an entire club fitting section as well. Our gang of 10 went there after a 10+ year break and now we've added it to our rotation. Thanks John and staff. Zeke & the Drunk Rhinos.
Great Value
This course is a great value for the price. The course'S conditions get better each time I play. It has lots of water hazards and is fairly challenging, but very forgiving at the same time.
It is a unique course
I would suggest a few bunkers are introduced in addition to the water hazards.
Generally, it is a forgiving course.
Maintainance is good.
Men's looker room needs to be up graded.
Execellent
for the money you can beat this course.
we like the course very much and we will play
mulitiple times
David
Great for the money!! It was a great day and the course was awesome.
Los Rios
Course was in very good shape, Greens were very receptive, several challenging holes, for a really nice round of golf. Only complaint was pace of play, marshals needed to move the slow group along
Great value
Played this track a few times and each time it has been in better shape.. Open track with few obstacles... Great for the intermediate player... Can play very quickly... Great value for the price
Great improvement
I've played Los rios several times, and over the last year or so it has improved exponentially!!! The only reason I couldn't give the overall facilities 5 stars is because there are several areas actively under construction. Great course regardless!!
golf outing
The course had some temporary tee boxes that were set in in the rough. They should have been mowed. Overall the course was in good shape and the greens were much faster than they appeared. Reasonable price, cart service and overall a good experience.
Just okay
Just okay to play since it was a holiday glad to get out. the course was not in good shape they had construction going on and the every green side was either completely wet/muddy or hard as a rock no consistency.
Great value
Seems to be upgrading the course and it is a great value for the money
Great condiotiin
I thought the greens were in top notch condition. In fact, the entire course was well manicured.
great shape!
This course is in the best shape I've seen it in years. Greens are pretty fast & roll true. Fairways in excellent condition. Rough is challenging to get out of if your ball isn't sitting up.
Ground crews were all over the course maintaining during our round. Cart girl came by 4-5 times during the round. Pro shop staff was friendly.
Played 18 in 3 1/2 hours. Played as a twosome and was paired up with a single. Couldn't beat the price we got at GolfNow.
Best I've ever seen it
Course is in really good shape. Fairways are great, greens a little hard. Rough is as challenging as ever. Definitely a good golf course.
Same as last visit
Played 7/11/15, and had the same experience as did last visit. Staff lacking in customer service, club house in need of updates, pace of play very slow and need a 4 wheel drive cart to drive on cart paths. Quit playing at 15 since we averaged 20+ minutes per hole with no course marshal present. Officially taking Los Rios off our list as a rotation course. We gave them a second chance and, again, they failed at every opportunity.
MUCH IMPROVED
We played for the first time in a couple of years. The course was in excellent condition. The staff was all very friendly and we really enjoyed the 19th hole after the round. I understand the course is under new management and you can really tell the diference.
Staff is rude.
Staff in the clubhouse was very rude. It was very clear that he has issues with the GolfNow booking system and people who book with it. This was not the first time we have been treated this way at this course. Golfers don't treat other golfers this way.
