Great course and clubhouse
Course was in good condition - quite dry and firm on the fairways because of the weather but the greens were brilliant. Quite narrow and hilly with interesting and challenging holes.
Great greens but awful fairways.
A pleasant place to play with excellent greens but spoiled by the fairways which were sparsely grassed. Not helped by a very wet day following a long dry spell.
Overbooked
My charitable self would say the club made a misjudgement. Alternatively I would say they were simply out to maximise revenue with no regard to players.
The club had booked a number of society groups - occasional golfers visiting the course - and the consequence with 8 minute start times was a horribly clogged up course. 9 holes took 2 hours and 40 minutes, waiting on every tee and for every shot.
This was however entirely predictable - if you have 10 or 12 4 balls in visiting groups going out one after another you know there will be delays. there should have been a 30 or 40 minute gap after the last group before selling additional tee times.
A very disappointing experience
Review 21.6.25
We played on 21.6.25 at 2.30. Unfortunately a large society had been booked in which completely jammed the course. The standard of the society standard of play was really poor as was their golf etiquette, lots of noice and talking whilst we were trying to hit tee shots and putt.
Why have a hotdeal slot behind a large society, leave a gap of at least 30 minutes . We had to miss 3 holes out to get ahead of all the groups, it still took us four hours 20 miles me to play 15 holes.
Very frustrating and the first time we’ve encountered problems on which is normally a well run club.
Well worth it
First time playing and definitely will be back. Some long holes with fairways that don’t punish if a little off line. Good mix of length for all pars with gorgeous 438 par 4 to finish!
Greens were true, running smooth.
Bunkers had sand long way down allowing to open the club face and getting grab.
Fairways were cut to nice length
Rough was still able to find your ball!
Undulating course
The course was in excellent condition tee to green. Pace of play was quite slow due to being behind a society but it didn't ruin our game , as it was our first game at Bawburgh and their are plenty of blind shots to pursue. Overall the course was great, the bar and facilities were good with extremely friendly staff. Wouldn't hesitate to go and play again and would certainly recommend.
Challenging
Challenging, tight course with lots of blind holes. Well maintained and great facilities.,
There are much better courses for less money in the area
Not a bad course, a bit hilly for those who may have issues but not troublesome for most. Pace of play was slow and has been a few times I have been here - Not particularly good value for money given the prices charged even for hot deals my expecations were higher - greens were ok just a very average course in my book and not one I would revist at the current hiked prices.
Lovely course
No e course, we did play during a wet day but still a good round. Extremely friendly staff very helpful and want you to get the most out of your day. Will be returning on a dryer day.
Excellent
Great mixture of par 3s and 5s once you've played it a couple of times it will become clearer where the next tees are a good map on scorecard to help with this
Good course
A great golf course. Love the greens. Has some great holes, a few of them are quite similar though.
Would be great to have some trickier par 4s and also some clear markers yardage markers 150etc etc
